And the eldar pose and breasts look so goofy.

You've done much nicer stuff previously.
You're obviously playing the wrong game and have made very poor life decisions if you haven't realized this game... space marines are all about blocky. That said the original thunderhawk was more of a brick. Who needs aerodynamics when you have gravity canceling surfaces and inertia is your only enemy?

Inertial dampeners for the win!

Anyway, yes, the Storm Raven w/Chapterhouse's conversion kit is a flying boxy monstrosity, but that's why a lot of us like it. It's a big improvement over the stock version, which looks like the front of a blocky aircraft and the rear of a blocky aircraft but lacks a 'middle'.

Yeah, I'll be getting a kit so my one and only Stormraven doesn't get called a Chibihawk anymore.

I'm not objecting to the brick like qualities of SM vehicles, just what Chapterhouse have done with it. It's just a bigger brick, which does nothing to improve the model.

I think that's where you're disagreeing with people in this thread. The big complaint about the stormraven that alot of us have is that it resembles a proper SM vehicle directly from the front and back but looks like the middle 50% of the hull was somehow teleported away. I'm personally not a fan of the tail and the servitor turret as I don't see those parts matching previous marine asthetics but I can fix those myself and don't need a kit for it. I wouldn't be able to fix the missing hull as my plasticard skill-fu is weak. We don't have a problem with a flying brick in general, just with a brick awkwardly broken in half like you'd find disgarded at a construction site. Either way, it's aesthetics so there is no "right" answer (even in regards to those strange folks that like the normal storm raven design!).

I always thought it looked like a hydroencephalitic taddpole with stubby little wings.

Nah, just that the stormraven brick got better brick-proportions with the CHS addon kit

Personally I am not a truescale fan, but the add makes sense to me because it actually looks like a crew compartment where the squad would be.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

Chapterhouse kits tend to be a bit hit or miss for me, this update is no exception. Not a fan of the Priestess. Her head seems to have a bit too much going on with the odd hairstyle and the helmet vents.

On the other hand, the Stormraven kit manages to turn a really awkward looking model into a mini-thunderhawk I'd want to buy! This is despite me not having collected any flavor of Marine for years!

LOL, I think a Thunderhawk conversion kit may be a bit beyond what they want to do (and expensive for them to try unless you want to lend them your unbuilt Thawk!).

I like booth releases, specially the priestess. While the Storm Raven thing is great, i would not use it for gaming, as the GW kit is alredy too big.

The priestess is incredible. No kidding, i loved it. I like all works from the sculptor, and he is incredible at doying female minis. Im sure planning to buy one soon (first model of my "in name of emperor" eldar retinue).

And i want some female Space Marines... waiting for them ^^

If my post show some BAD spelling issues, please forgive-me, english is not my natural language, and i never received formal education on it...

Moving flat out..

On a related / unrelated note..

I just received my DoomSeer from Chapterhouse and it's great - the only downside is, now I wish I would have waited so that I could have combined shipping with these two new releases!

Bah!

for the love of the emperor's Gold Plated dangly bits no........ If that ever happens i will ah eot boycott chapterhouse for my own sanity.

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

It was meant as a joke. I know all about the thunderhawk being a utiliarian mass produced ugly bird compared to its preferred stormraven cousin.

Why? Dont you like female servants of the emperor? Dont forget that 2 the original chapter (and their Primarchs) are forgotten, lost (or erased?) from every Imperial Record, if Traitor legions dont had the same fate, i think that a female primarch (and full legion ) could be a reason for that (she could even be the lover of the Emperor). You understand that we totally dont know anything about the 2 lost legions, right?

C'mon, what is better than Super Human Space Knights? Female Super Human Space Knights (normally, if you add "female", things grow better )

Look at this for some pics of what they should look like: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/30/345483.page

Femmarines in 2nd edition 40k style. Just shave off the head and replace with a 40k SM helmet and add a backpack.

I just wanted everyone to know the TRU-Scale Conversion kit for the Storm Raven will be up for sale at approx. 9am central time Saturday September 3rd.

I have about 130 kits, I am curious to see how long those last (luckily many of you got your kits some time ago from the pre-order).

You will see a big announcement on the front page -www.chapterhousestudios.com when the item goes live.

Everyone have a good holiday weekend.

great stuff but i still need a set of backpack guns. are they in the pipe?

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

Just ordered one of the Stormeraven kits. I hated the Stormraven initially, then it grew on me, and then this extension kit sold me on it. It actually looks like a real (ugly) flier now, instead of a toy.

Have you guys ever considered creating a las/plas razorback upgrade kit? This is definitely something that is lacking out there and most conversions look really bad.

Q: How many of a specific demographic group are required to carry out a simple task?
A: An arbitrary number. One to carry out the task in question, and the remainder to act in a manner stereotypical of the group.

Sold out already - well done to you!

Is there a way to get on an emailing list when more come in? I know I can pre-pay for some, but I'm not really into the whole pay now, get some later when they're available again-type thing.

Got mine, its pretty nice. just be careful gluing it together since my side panels were slightly warped and there were some gaps I had to fill afterwards because of it.

I dont know what resin they are using but it is horrifyingly strong, the little strip that holds the wings down is like 1/16" thick and i was trying to snap it after being unable to glue the wings on and was unable to do so until the plastic started whitening from strain.

Yep, Some warping may occur in transit/during casting when the pieces are setting. Same way to fix this with any resin, heat it up with hot water or hair dryer, straighten and pour cool water on it.

We sold out of the first 130 kits in 30 hours. The delivery time on the products' page ahs been modified to show the wait. We are now selling next weeks allotment.

We are working on some pretty interesting and what I believe will be high demand items. We have some new talent on board (a couple of ex-GW designers/sculptors) so I think people will be impressed what they will see soon.

The new website is my bane.. I have to update all the items and transfer them over all the while processing invoices from the increased sales as of late.

I would suggest putting your order in for any kits you want now. As many folks are happy paying and waiting for the kits to come in a week or two time and then being shipped. There is little chance the Storm Raven will be stocked up with items waiting for at least a month or 2 when the demand simmers down.

You guys have me interested, some folks are buying 3-5 kits at a time, do you use them all?

Might be several guys in the same area/club/whatever getting 1 guy to order them at the same time. A few people have asked me to do the same when I order mine, you'd think i'm the only person with an Internet connection and a Paypal account...
