What's weird about that? I did (and will do) that every time I had a night class or had to go meet somebody.

Then there are those who drag themselves further. I find that admirable.

Depends what kind of knife we're talking about here. A Swiss Army? Fine. A Small Climbing (>3 Inches)? Fine! A K-Bar? A bit excessive.

That being said, I do carry around a Gerber Multi-tool. 1.5 inch knife, screwdrivers, pliers, everything I need for sailing/work around the house.

I don't really have any phobias. Not particularly keen on spiders (or bugs/incests in general) but if I see one I don't scream and run away....
And I love heights which is a common phobia, I also like walking at night/in the dark, it can be a little creepy/scary but something about the dark is fascinating...

Although i dont believe its a recognised phobia i have a severe fear of amusment park rides. Wont go near them, WILL NOT get on one. Even "harmless" ones like Ferris wheels or Dodgem cars get the better of me.
And while not a phobia by any stretch, i get the overwhelming and unrelenting urge to punch the crap out of things like sports team mascots and those guys at theme parks who walk around in oversized novelty animal/"thing" suits. Emperor help any fool in a MickyMouse costume because i will lay him out before he can do one of his rediculous laughs.

n0t_u wrote:As for stuff like spiders and snakes, like anyone else should be, cautious around them and maintain distance from the rather poisonous ones. The poisonous ones do mess with me though, if I spot one I need to remove it or know where it is.
Im like this too. While im not afraid of spiders if i see a Whitetail or something poisonous i have to know where it is at all times until i spray him. Huntsmans and stuff like that are fine though.

Deathly afraid of heights.

And here I am training to be a pilot. Love flying though, can't stand heights. Put me on a ladder and I'll wet myself, but at 3000 feet, I'm happy as a clam.

Still also a little afraid of the dark, never quite got over that one.

None of you are helping . Before I go to sleep I have close all the doors and arrange furniture so it doesn't look like the silhouette of a person/creature.

I hate little rodents when they are in my room.
Hasnt happened in a few years, but the sounds of them running around freaks me out
I used to keep a high powered pump pistol (shot those shaped metal pellet things) by my bed in case one got in so I could waste it

Also trash/trash juice. I wear gloves when I take out the trash and recycling, its so disgusting

Aussies don't have phobias about snakes or spiders.

Phobias are IRRATIONAL fears. Given how many of each can kill you here, our fears are entirely RATIONAL, and hence, NOT a phobia.

Clowns creep me out though.

I had a rather bad experience, I was watching the exorcist with a friend and we were pretty much alone. When the spirit was coming out of the girl...the power went out...I have never lit a candle faster in my entire life.

Spiders I have found are eternal optimists and for this reason I like them, making their little webs in out of the way corners and behind the hot water heater.

They will never catch a darn thing back there, and the many many skeletons of spiders past attest to this fact.

But they still spin their webs there and slowly starve to death, and once a year I clear whats left of them out with a broom.

Actually maybe they arn't optimists, maybe they're just stupid.

Erm...they find heat sources in order to shed their exoskeleton so they can grow. Those 'skeletons' you brush out are just shrivelled husks, the spider would be twice the size and probably looking for a safe place to hide until the new skin hardens :3

Why does that sound so much like a xenomorph?

I need to find and kill some spiders now. To keep them from becoming more powerful.

I hate heights with a passion, probably coz I feel 15ft out of a tree when I was younger, missed breaking myself on a wooden plank below the tree by inches. (surprisingly nothing more than bruises!)

I love water though, despite almost drowning twice. Once when I was younger in a swimming pool when they turned on the waves in the deep end, and I kept going under, and once when I was sailing a small boat after about 4 weeks of learning (about 15 hours of experience) and this storm came out of nowhere and flipped the boat. That was actually surprisingly fun. But then I'm strange like that.
