Tanith probably had the nicest planet. That's why it had to be destroyed, Imperium can't have nice things.

Not really. Oasis's only, and that means not much.

Indeed, it is uncommon for me not to wish that I too lived in a cake or other suitable dessert.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

So,since Vostroya has to give up its firstborn sons, if a family only has daughters, they have no obligation to give any to the firstborn right?

I might switch my answer to Vostroyans, heh.

Or any other 'Imperial Career' other than Guardsman. Munitorum, Ecclesiarchy, Administratum, Arbites, or local world stuff. The Imperium's your oyster when you're vorostroyan!

There should be way more Female IG regiments in fluff, I mean mankind's primary resource is people - Even if the imperium is as vastly chauvenistic as it already is, worship of the emperor means murdering aliens. More of the other 50% of the human population should be being fed into meat grinders, Starship Troopers style.

@ purplefood I looked up Praetoria - the Backronymed planet - and it's apparently a hella squalid, heavily stratified hive world, where even air is rationed. Megadisciplined, not as nice as I thought. And I don't think they've been written out at all, it's just that there's only plastics for cadians and catachans, so they're the only ones that exist in the latest codex.

Brimlock Dragoons are pretty awesome too! Rumour has it that was originally going to be a Praetorian novel, but there was no approval for such a concept from on high, so it became the Brimlock Dragoons instead. My best impulse buy this year by far.

Tanith was definitely the nicest homeworld, thus it doesn't exist anymore. It failed the GrimDark test....

Run a whole lot of wfrp and other rpg's, play The Woods and Kill Team, gather and look mournfully at imperial guard knowing I'll never finish enough to use them on the tabletop

Cadian equipment is the imperial standard because it is good and efficient, not because it sucks.

At least with this I wouldn't have to be on the front lines. Since Vostroya is unlikely to be invaded in canon and all that.

Again, what's the problem there? Vostroya is just well known enough to matter, but not well known enough to be attacked. GW isn't gonna have them be attacked all the time

I didnt say it sucks, its just obviously worse than The Vostroyans. Just by eye comparison you can see how much better equipped and more technoloigcally advanced the Vostroyen gaurd are.

On the administratum thing, I think I would rather have a job where at least my coworkers care (or notice) if I die, unlike the Admin.

As to the regiments, I think I would like to be an Elysian, though being surrounded by Rambo's is far from bad

Armageddon Steel Legions because at least I can fight from the safety of a Chimera most of the time.

Though I would rather be from my own IG regiment, the Shadowsreach Iron Corps, the low population and heavy industry/mining operations means the planet produces only armored regiment
