I agree. Retail stores are all on the ropes these days. Game stores need to evolve, and part of that is probably going to involve offering 'alternative services' that online stores can't provide (which means play-space, snacks and drinks, etc. as well as ideas people smarter than me will hopefully come up with) or the stores will fade away.
However, I would consider it rude to go into a
FLGS and brag about getting a deal from an online vendor* and would always give the store a chance on hobby supplies and similar if they can. I'm even willing to pay a bit more, especially if they order books they know I'll want.

Dream Pod 9 and am very fond of
The War Store as there's no local
FLGS I'm on good terms with. But the above was true when I did have a good
FLGS (Ahh, GameEdge.)
