Vostroyans.
I hate this entire line of minis.
If IG was only possible to play using these models, I would never play them. The furry hats, the pseudo russian-ness of them, it just makes me want to hurl them back into the crucible from which they came.

There are entire armies I also dislike - even though I might like a couple of their models.

Like the OP, the only model range I active dislike / can't get my head around are the nids.

Their weapons are supposed to be LIVING weapons, one with the greater organism. So why the hell do termagants look like their holding flesh-covered assault rifles. They even have MAGAZINES for godsakes.

Shame cause I really like the models themselves, especially the MCs. Its just the way they modeled the ranged weapons is what kills it for me.

I really like some of the nid models but the points raised here in this thread do ring true to me. I think the big creatures are for the most part pretty cool especially with melee weapons. But the gaunts and the middle size creatures just look like extra-limbed humanoids or dinosaurs rather than alien bio-weapons. If the Tyranids looked more Lovecrafty or more insect-like, they would look less generic and more scary.

My theory is that the Hive Mind can order the Gaunts to drop the weapons, using their claws as a melee attack.

And the others are powerful enough to not have to drop their guns so it's embedded into their body.

I respect you opinion. But sometimes opinions are wrong.

Yes!

I will also defend to awesome space cossacks. Would be me army if they came in a plastic kit.

I'm also surprised by how many dislike the DE range in this thread. The scourges are one of the best looking models I've ever seen.

Regarding model ranges I don't like...

I think the regular cadian and catachans look a bit bland, as a lot of guard models does. They lack detail, look too bulky and boring.

The regular marines look a bit bland but has so much options for painting and converting that it doesn't matter. I like to add a lot of bronze and gold to my armies.

Eldar...Eldar...and Eldar once again.

Eldar are elf things, wearing kinky clothing, they as hard as f**** to glue to bases etc., and they are generally annoying. Their guns are also ridiculously underpowered, and its not like they have 'amazing speed' to compensate.

Playing chicken with a Chimera and Predator is NOT advisable.

Eldar don't have amazing speed? What game are you playing?

Seriously though, I have fought too many eldar armys that zip around doing nothing for 5 turns before grabbing all the objectives at the very end.

You're probably right. Perhaps when I have played Eldar the player just weren't utilizing the speed well.

I'm not a fan of the Cadian or Catachan Guard (even though I play Guard). I'm not sure why they even modeled the regiments the polar opposites of one another. And the Cadians aren't even representing the basic Guardsmen at all; Carapace Armor really? Ugh.

Gimme plastic Tallarn and Steel Legion instead please.

I'm not a fan of the Space Marine either. How can so many people be sucked to those god awful eye sores? Space Marines are visibly bland and lackluster to paint.

Tau, Slannesh , most Chaos Marines and all the Greater Daemon models not done by FW, honestly GW needs to make new Greater Daemons. The Tau just don't seem to fit into the 40K galaxy.

I don't think everyone likes the whole Nipple Armour thing, though apart from that the armour seems to be fine. Just get a file.

Space Marines and all of their chapters...save maybe Iron Hand. There are a select few models I like, most from FW (I absolutely love the Contemptor Dread in the Rifleman setup).

I just find their entire line to be so uninspired and bland. Not to mention that their proportions are so off. They look awesome in the artwork, but their models just don't convey just exactly how powerful they're supposed to be. I think that, for being GW's flagship 40k faction, they should have invested more creativity into the SM line. How is it that they can create something awesome like, say, a Trygon, or original and inspired like the Ork line, but just go completely blah on the SM chapters?

Chaos Space Marines and Orks. Talk about models that don't require much imagination or skill to assemble.

Now wait a second. Orks have probably the best range for unit customization. How do they require no imagination to assemble and convert with? What in the space marine line requires intense skills and imaginative ideas to make? Sure, you can paint some mural on the side of your tank, and some chapter symbol on your shoulder pads, but it stops there. Marines are fairly easy to paint, sorry. It's really just "Chose main armour color. Paint it that color, maybe an extra coat or two depending on the color. Now, choes your secondary color, and paint in the armour trim. Dab something in the eyes, and then use a transfer to put your chapter symbol on the shoulder plate. If they are supposed to be gritty, a quick wash will fix it. Now i'm done. When you've got orks, You're painting the skin with extra highlights and washes to get the color in between the muscles, have way more facial features to do, and lots of mismatched armour with different colors, all of which can be painted with various glyphs, clan symbols, and checks and dags. If it's not enough, you can get all sorts of tatoos on it, or warpaint for deffskulls and snakebites, as well as camo for bloodaxes. Evil sunz have al sorts of flame patterns, goffs have checks and dags, badmoonz have loads of ostenious crap that they wear. Putting washes on can take forever, with different coats of dirt, grime, and exhaust maybe for evil sunz. The reason I have so few models painted is because i spend a ton of time making them look great, well, most of them (looking at you, blackreach models from when i first started). And i'm planning to redo them. Vehicles are a lot more then, "Glue on a gun and stick random sh*t everywhere," My vehicles are adorned with orky grafetti(?), and cool glyphes, and various heads and looted weapons taken from enemies. Hell, my scratch-built battlewagon has headless bodies being dragged behind it. My lootas and koptas? I spent days getting all those wires and gubbinz looking nice.

And chaos doesn't require skill? Have you even SEEN some of those great unclean ones in the galary? They look like a pox-ridden victorian london threw up in a gas station bathroom. And i mean that in a good way!
