A few tidbits on falling to sleep during movies. Every night me and the missus turn on an episode of MST3K and fall asleep to it. So we literally fall asleep to a movie every night. I also fall asleep when I watch Star Wars IV, not because I don't love it, but because it always makes me feel warm and comfy on the inside. It's relaxing.
When me and my buddy went to watch LOTR 2 we had both been awake for over 24 hours and we spent the entire movie elbowing each other so we wouldn't fall asleep. Love the movie but it is long and we were tired
Only bad movie I remember falling asleep to at a theater was Star Wars II. I did not learn my lesson from Episode I so I went to go see the movie by myself knowing full well that a group of my friends were going to see the very next show and I was going to join them. So I watched that wreck twice in a row. Went to sleep before the caterpillar assassins showed up and only woke up for the big fight scene at the end.

I actually quite liked the remake of Clash of the Titans...Besides, it's got to be better than the stop-motion godawful original, right?

Oh, now I think of it, Bridge to Terebithia. I was about 9 at the time and I hated it. How come the cute cloudcuckoolander Lesley dies whilst that irritating little turd that is Jesse's sister gets a happy ending?

Also, 9/11 from what I saw of it was pretentious crap.

Bridge to Terebithia taught me a valuable lesson, the good get nothing but a sad end, and little sisters will always get more attention.

This one here...

Also, for me, and guys will troll me I'm sure, but Apocalypse Now! has put me to sleep on certain nights.

To be fair though, I can and still do watch the movie the whole way through without sleeping, just if i get a case of insomnia, it has an oddly soothing aspect to it, that I find makes me able to sleep again.

Although I loved that movie, it is definitely not an easy film to watch it is very slow paced but very rewarding in terms of visuals, music and story.

You...you aren't serious, are you? The remake had no story, insulted the original (the Bubo the Owl scene), and none of the characters had any personality. You couldn't care less about any of them. Back in the old one, you had PENGUIN from BATMAN playing the father-figure to Perseus, you were dismayed when his best friend died, and he ended up with the girl he was supposed to rescue in his quest. Why quest to save the girl you aren't planning on marrying? Stupid, stupid remake. The creators should have been burned alive.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

sunshine is one of the worst , most boring films ever created, awful cliched story, terrible visuals, and very poor acting.

I LIKED Sunshine...

In fact I thought it was awesome.

Also, Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift. Even the obligitary hood ornament hotties were dull, and most of them weren't even Japanese. The main girl was annoying (and also not the slightest bit Japanese) the car scenes were cliched, in fact the best bit in the entire film is when the protagonist walks into the classroom filled with cute Japanese schoolgirls and gets chastised for not taking off his shoes. And if I wanted cute Japanese girls in sailor suits, I don't have to watch through a dull movie to see them.

Ugh.

I'm with you on that one. I find it hard to stay focussed watching it, my mind tends to wander. There is something kinda soporific about it.

I'm in the same boat. As much as I love some of Stanley Kubrick's other movies, I don't think I've ever finished 2001.

Another one that I've never stayed awake through: The Godfather. I don't care what people say about it, I've tried watching it four times, and I've falled asleep every time.

EDIT - spelling

Ironically, the first time i watched godfather 1 the whole way through without sleeping was to watch some, pause after a bit, do something else, it up after a little bit..so i watched the whole movie in 4 or 5 segments, before i was able to watch in one go.

Unfortunately, it's not quite as good as the title would make it seem, however, I will still take it over the original any day.

Well look at the source material, there's only so much you can do with that. I actually tried to read the original, my ex asked me to do it for her birthday or some BS, I stopped about halfway through because I fell asleep reading and lost my page. In a normal, sane book for humans you can find your page easily because there's a progression to the story. Not Austin's work, it's the same conversation, in the same scene, repeated to judgement day. The book is clearly a work of witchcraft and I'm happy to report I burned the copy I had post haste for the good of us all.
