The monocular definitely suits great, imo, but I'm not sure about this curve in his belly - looks like he's trying to eat the hose with his paunch...
These extra 'power-nodes' on the shoulderpad looks good, though I would add another one there.

ishkatar - Thanks!
- The belly curve and cable worked in my mind but just isn't doing it - I'll be filling in the belly tonight
- Also, going to cut the cable and make a male-connector up on the gun and a female-connector in his hand, so it looks like he has yet to plug it in
- I would add another power-node up there if I had one! i can't remember what they were originally - something of the Dreadknight I think - so if I go with it I'll have to scratchbuild one

Unfortunately, it was pointed out to me the three circles on the chain mail is Nurgle symbology - and this guy is Ordo Malleus.
Those purity seals are proxies, just a test - they're far too big and curve in weird ways - I think I'll have to make my own

Thanks for commenting!

Cheers.

Somedude593, Igandris - Thanks for the input - see below...

WIP work list:
- Cut the cable and made a connector-plug (not yet detailed) at the gun and in his hand - hopefully this looks like he has yet to plug in...
- Cut the tails off those ugly purity seals and glued some straighter/shorter ones on - two looks best, tried 3, too busy...
- Readjusted the cable from the hand to the spine-mount so it hangs more - though it looks like the Dragonforge cable has split (near the hand), so I may end up making a GS cable...
(Note the strap has dropped off the shoulder - it will be fixed in place back up on top of the shoulder soon...)

Lookin' good. I think the "papa" part of the cable needs to be more plug-like.
And on that purity seals matter... I think those three circles on the chain mail doesn't shout "Nurgle" so loud to make 'em hidden at any cost - looks like a regular circle metal platings to me. Yet if you want to cover 'em anyway I'd rather go with some pouches and stuff instead. Will be more logical, imo. As for the seals, there're a lot of other places it can be added to, like the shoulder pad, bracers or the gun's buttstock. Well, just my thoughts...
He's coming out great anyway and the cabel definitely looks like he has yet to plug in. Keep it up!

I'd have to agree with this. Purity seals are THE thing when it comes to creating the inquisitor look IMO, but even those smaller purity seals are too big to look natural down there. The circles are fine by me. Maybe you could paint a mechanicum symbol or something on them?

Other than that these are coming together nicely!

- yes, the cable-plugs require detailing defintely
- I'm so off these purity seals, I'm looking for an alternative, pouches, waterbottle... watch this space!

There's quite a popular 28mm ][-version

May be something like an apron or a belly-armour, similar to what those FB Ogres wears, will do the job?

I think that the plug in cable on the gun is pure genius

For the front and back, why don't You give him just some rugged clothes to cover up the Nurgle symbol and fill up the under spine?

Squigsquasher - Thanks - and as ishkatar says above - this is Inquisitor at 28mm... much more conversion fodder!
ishkatar wrote:May be something like an apron or a belly-armour, similar to what those FB Ogres wears, will do the job?
ishkatar - Thanks for the input - no pic, but i've gone with a small armour plate and some ragged cloth over lapping it

SelvaggioSaky - Thanks! - see my answer above about the front - i think i'll leave the back, let the spine-mount and the exo-arm be the focus

Ok, Nurglii discs covered, front detail complete - the shield thingy is another Black Templars brass etch piece cut down a little, glued over the shaved down Nurglii discs, and an attempt to recreate the cloth hanging under his belly with GS.

- the brass bit might be a good place for some freehand... maybe an ][...

Done, moving on...

Unfortunately, this will be my last WIP for approx 3 weeks, off on holidays.

Cheers all!

Anyway...

I should be sleeping (have to get up in 5 hours to go see the Crossfit Games) but... here's a WIP of a side-line character that's kind of grown organically without much thought - he's where my excess GS from the Nurglii has been going, mainly as sculpting practice piece... I think he's some kind of Eclessiarchy Redeemer or Chaplain or... I don't know, I had the arms lying around from the High Elf Dragon (I think), the head from a DA Terminator, chopped up body from a Cultist - whacked him together a few weeks back - not sure where he fits into the story, maybe just an NPC...

Trying my hand at GS mold-making...

Been at the Crossfit Games all weekend, came home and had 5 minutes to pop this first mold attempt open... no time to try it out, off again in the morning.

Cheers!

And going all purple??? (... there is a plan here, trust me!)

And tried out the newly-cast ][ icon on the Prosecutor and I think I like it:

More color on the Kroot:

In case anyone was wondering:
- Very light white 'zenithal' spray to give a touch of highlight to the purple - the black and white undercoat creates a gradient from very dark to almost white purple - which will become green when I eventually do the skin
- Dirty brown onto the leather parts to separate them out
- Rusty layer of Dark Flesh onto the metal parts

Igandris - Metal will be slightly darker steel (after a wash) and more rust to come, using pastel

Next WIP:

And now he has green skin:

Made in us

Bright yellow oil paint for the skin highlights - turned the skin a little too lime green, it may need a darker green wash to bring it back a touch...

- Metal needs re-highlighting and not sure where to go with the head spines... white? yellow? stripes, perhaps?

Suggestions?
