Evidently your giant brass balls do not consider it mandatory; I however do.

Getting shot in the balls drops me like a sack of bricks. It's just so rare I don't worry about it. Played for...oh...6 years now? Been shot there twice I think. Both times because I was running full on at someone. You learn to attack from angles or suffer the consequences.

BTW- I'm totally jacking your style. I love the suit idea.

For something super cheap...well sorta. If you play paintball a lot I'd considered 30 bucks for a whole suit cheap. Anyways, for something so cheap I'm amazed how poorly it caught on with the group I ran with. Lazy bastards, the whole lot of them. Then later on one of them tells me about how some famous guy did it, so now it's cool. I about reached through the phone and strangled him then and there.

Also, I hate woodsball for the most part. Woodsball can be fun but only if heavily regulated. Ive never played a game that involved a bunch of guys just meeting up that didn't turn into hide and seek in the forest, except when you go seeking you get shot up by the hiders. That's why I like speedball, it's fast and in your face, none of that wandering around and not shooting someone for who knows how long. Of course, a woodsball game regulated well is awesome. Like Dday or any other forest heavy scenario event.

I'm with you on that. Unless it's a small woods field, I'd much rather play airsoft/paintball on a COB/speedball field. Walking around for 10-15 minutes trying to find the other team is boring if you ask me. Go MilSim if you want to do that

Here's a good example of a speedball field

THERE"S A SNAKE ON THE COURSE!!!! (unleashes snake hunting wiener dog)
Pop! wiener dog returns with that satisfied "mmm snake tastes like chicken" look he always gets.
ah, crisis averted. That was close.

-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

Reading, England

Been paintballing once, ended up in A&E. Would love to go again.

I went for my 21st Birthday with some friends, had to wear bright pink tabard and tutu which came off after a few games when I was getting shot by everyone, including my own team. Was loving it, got a couple of people even though guns were rubbish and my goggles kept fogging up (refused to pay £10 for anti-fog stuff and it was hot yet raining). Got a paintball in the mouth, saw a guy get hit in the nuts twice within a few seconds all good. Towards the end of the day started to get the hang of things and as some groups went home we got merged into new teams, ended up against a group of kids and parents, who we took apart quite quickly, aided by my mate who is in the TA.

Last game of the day was myself and 3 mates holed up in a 'Castle Wolfenstein' while a group of regular kids took us on. The whole idea was to use up our ammo and 'infinite lives' until one team gave up or we had to leave. So with the now usual fogging of the goggles I had the added challenge of being shot in the goggles a few times and could barely see at all. Whistle blew as the kids gave up, we had driven them off, I head down the stairs, which are slippery from all the rain, thought I was going to slip but made it down fine. Was joking with my mates about the last game and went to rush through the door out. Due to my goggles being so difficult to see through and forgetting how low the door frame was, my 6'4" body went through this gap without my head which connected with the frame. Cue loss of consciousness and a broken gun from landing on it. Woke up few seconds later with mate over me asking if ok, severe neck pain and dizziness/nausea. Got dropped off at the hospital by flatmate, his gf staying with me. Got diagnosed with severe concussion and injuries to the muscles in the neck. Friends carried on the party back at the flat while I slept and missed my own 21st. It took a few months of physio and even now year or 2 on I still get some problems. Would love to go again though.

Bruins fan till the end.

Never assume anything, it will only make an ass of you and me.

Now that's a damn good story.

I've had nothing but bad experiences with airsoft players.

I'm not calling you one of these people OP, nor am I saying your friends do this, but these types do exist and there is a lot of them.

Between airsoft and paintball, that is one of the bigger reasons while I'll never bother with airsoft, it's the players. Paintball has it's fair share of dbags no doubt, but I can show up at a paintball field in something like a business suit (see my avatar), and everyone loves.

Sorry to bring negativity into your thread :(

[slight necro]

I'm sorry to hear this. I play both (though I haven't actually played paintball in half a decade), and while I do agree with you that there are a lot of tacticool (tm) folks out there who want to be the next SEAL/Delta/whatever, there's enough nice, well-mannered folks to counterbalance them. I play for a local team in PA, and we're usually more relaxed about things here. No need for dickery when we play Army Men in the woods with plastic-slinging toy guns. (the team is Ravenwood Securities. We've made it to quite a few national ops in recent times. Yes, I enjoy puffing my own chest, lol).

But yeah, I've encountered enough d-bags and arrogant wanna-bes in both sports.
