I always tell people that if I could go back in time and kill one of history's greatest monsters it would be T.S. Eliot. Shakespeare is a close second choice though. And I'm a professional theater artist. And I studied Shakespeare a lot in graduate school. And I still hate him. So so much. For a wonderful variety of reasons. I would actually like to have dinner with someone who is still alive: Stephen Hawking. Not only is he a brilliant scientist and modern philosopher, but he is capable of presenting his ideas in clear, narrative ways that are accessible to people barely literate in the sciences (like me) without seeming condescending. Or Paul Krugman. I'd love to have a beer with him and bloviate about the state of modern political and economic discourse.

I'd have to go with Caligula , at least you could be sure the day would not be boring due to your perception of the historical figure being misplaced. Also I'd probably be able to get my cat into the senate "Tiggius Cattus " ,whilst at the same time managing to get Cicero cut out of history.
Now THAT would be a cool day.

Che Guevara. From what I've read, he was an amazing and powerful person to talk to. Double Edit - I'd love to hear about his travels across to different countries, especially his motorcycle ride through South America. Even though I don't agree with all of his view on politics, I'd still enjoy hearing him talk about the "revolution."

Provided that language barriers are removed:
- Jesus, as a Catholic, I'd like to have some discussions with him about a couple of things.
- Reinhard Heydrich. Evil incarnate.
- Do alleged figures count? I'd love to spend a day with whoever runs the MJ-12, or if it's truly an equal committee whoever is seen as the most knowledgeable amongst the wisemen.
