Nice looking batch of bugs. Looking forward to the detail shots. Just because the time’s up doesn’t mean you get to stop working! I know you like to juggle a dozen projects, but nothing new until this one is wrapped.

Have you ever showcased your Eldar? At a meager 2k according to your sig, maybe they could use an expansion...

That is a LOT of work for just a week, a worthy achievement indeed.

Next crazy project? Don't you have a couple of Superheavies to be getting on with...?

My Eldar do indeed need painting but are very low down on my interest list tbh.

The super heavies definitely need some time investing into them. The thunderhawk is 50% done, as is the reaver titan (from a build point of view) and the warhound is still in tbe box.

I am going to get cracking with the thunderhawk as of tomorrow anc then have a new kahn model I want to do.

I will finish the bugs in tne next week too. I promise, sort of....

Hey guys, this post is gonna be on all of my blogs as I think its a more than worthy cause.

A whole community of 40+ painters are putting together the 4th company ultramarines and raffling it off for the help for hero's charity so please taka a look at the link and buy some tickets. Over £7000 was raised last year for a salamanders army that 1 lucky winner got so who know it could be you this time.

I am building and painting a tactical squad and rhino for it and will run a blog to track progress. I'm not sure if I will do it as part of my scars blog or a seperate one but will also be running a youtube vlog to help promote the cause.

I'm not normally one for begging or pushing on people but believe this is worth it. Let me know your thoughts or keep me posted as you get tickets and I'll feed it all back to Nick (IDIC BEER) who is running this amazing project.

Here is the link, thanks guys http://www.idicbeer.co.uk/p/help-for-heroes-ultramarines.html

Cheers Vincent.

Ive just got back form my gaming club (Wardens of the North based in Wigan on a thursday night if anyone is interested) and have played my nids again. Thats 5 out of 5 wins for them now and I have to say they are fun (although moving them is laborious) and I have proven already that the new nid codex is not as bad as everyone makes out. I don't write an OP list and keep it relatively simple to play but using basic sense just works.

The list is

Winged hive tyrant with 2 tl devourers
Tervigon with toxin sacs
20 gants toxin sacs with devourers
20 gaunts toxin sacs
15 gargoyles toxin sacs
10 genestealers
Hive crone
Exocrine
Mawloc
Venomthrope

I only have 2 synapse creatures and have to think hard with that although dominion helps and I deploy with as much help from the venomthrope as possible. I just use weight of dice to bring enemies down and run into combat asap.

Tonight I went against an unbound Eldar army (Iyanden vs Kraken, fluffy to the enth) and whittled his 2 wraithknights down with mass poisoned wounds. The Avatar died to the flyrants devourers eventually. To be fair though, paroxysm helped massivley in reducing his WK to WS 1 in combat meaning only 3's to hit.

Anyway this is not a tactics thread but thought I'd share it with you. I have painted the teeth and eyes on the gaunts now and blacked the bases. I will get onto the carapace highlights and tevigon sac soon and will add some photo's in due course.

I have been spending my time more on Ultramarines as per my comment on previous post. Please look at my youtube videos for updates on this worthwhile cause and PLEASE leave comments saying where you heard about me and most importantly PLEASE PLEASE share the videos with everyone you can. It
Doesn't matter what country you are from it all helps raise awarness and who knows there may be someone starting one up in your country for a similar charity.

Thanks guys

I've no idea how Nid lists usually look or work, but it's good to see some rational thought on the codex rather than 'it's not OP, therefore it's Rubbish!' that is all too common around here.

I count 65 infantry models in that list (+whatever the Tervi spawns), and if you find that laborious, my advice is this: Never, ever start a Guard army. (That said, one of my all-time best-but-longest games was a 2k a side, horde IG vs horde IG game. Utter carnage, and the longest movement phases I've seen. There's something to be said for endless waves of meatshields... erm, I mean, valuable Guardsmen... )

Out of interest, did playing against an Unbound list feel any different? Did it change your tactics at all? Was it any harder?

Wow that must have been some table to allow that many IG on there.

It wasnt a particularly nasty unbound list, breakdown was

Farseer
2 wraithknights 1 with suncannon 1 with d cannons
Avatar
5 wraithguard with cannons
5 wraithguard with d scythes
Hemlock wraithfighter
Gun emplacement which I forget what its called it had a 20 shot punisher cannon though.

I seized the initiative which helped massivley and we were playing the malestrom mission cloak and shadow.

I knew that points could be handy and I would have objective secured beijn batyleforged so pushed for a maximum 6 points in first 2 turns. I also needed his farseer gone so stuck 12 s6 sbots from my flyrant into him. Knowing that it was instant death if he failed 1 inv save. He did, which gave me a tac point, 1st blood and slay the warlord. Plus he couldnt use guids on his big gun emplacement.

My view on ubound is simple. I love it when its used correctly and known in advance. For example, if you are just going to put the hardest 1500 pts you can muster together then I will probably decline the game but if you are writing a themed army or want to try something that is powerful I have got timeto think about what I take against you yo either counter your power or join the theme. Last night was straight from the books kraken invading iyanden and overthowing them. The dark eldar must have forgotten to come though haha.

In short I think it depends on your opponent. For pick up games it could be a problem but even yhen its ony an hour or so of your life and you may learn something.

Sounds like you have a gaming group that are using Unbound for what it was meant for, which is great.

Am I right in thinking that just by swapping the Farseer for a Spiritseer, that would be a BF list anyway?
