Yeah, the Badab War is actually what got me back into 40k.

I'd say I mainly paint when it comes to 40k (partially 'cause I don't like to play unpainted so I've been playing 1k and under so far), but try to get games in, too.

I was pretty happy with that turret, and you nailed the reason I did the kitbash- it was a bit oversized on the old chassis.

(Oh, and fun location)

Thanks! Yeah, I think I may have gone a bit overboard on the beakies, but like to mix those sets. Currently, I'm moving into some of the metal transition/2nd ed marines, which are a lot easier to integrate than beakies.

Next up, my test Lamenter to join the Badab Buddies Maelstrom Warders (notes).

Expanding the scope of this thread a little, to include other Secessionists since, well, it happened...

Thanks! Yeah, had a lot of fun with modding that.

Been a while, some devastators (more for variety than actually using them as a squad...) and the usual notes

And my Astral Claws force continues to get sporadic updates (and have finally hit the field in 8th... a few notes)

A mix of updated and new Tactical marines, and my first 8th edition model in my interpretation of a Lieutenant.

Yeah, I've been kinda slow expanding, but pretty happy where my Imperials are going.

Incredible. Great aesthetic and the best Astral Claws I've seen.

Really impressive Huron conversions. He's one of my favorite characters too - the fourth edition codex had some great background about the Badab Wars, and ADB did an excellent job writing him up in the second Night Lords book.

My painting log is full of snakes

Thanks!

Don, I haven't actually read the 4th edition entries. I'll need to check them out.

And yeah, I remember liking how he was handled in the Night Lords series (though I thought the 3rd book was unimpressive). My spouse actually plays Night Lords because of that series, and the previous page has a few I worked on for that collection (which I'd say is more inspired by the series than actually based on it).
