After seeing their
FB ad so many times, I finally had to pull the trigger and put an order in. I ordered on Wednesday, and to my surprise, they turned up today! That's some fast shipping from Poland to Sweden. So score 1. When I opened the package, the miniatures were well packed in bubble wrap, and on top of that they came in blisters. So no real risk of damage there. Score 2. I also found a small hand-penned sketch (by their artist, beautiful) on a post-it note along with a "thanks for ordering". Very personal and friendly. Score 3! But what you really want is the miniatures, right? Well, here they are, Ingrid and Nadia:
Beautiful, aren't they? The casts were basically flawless with very few mould lies (most cleverly hidden in seams and folds anyway). The resin is hard enough as to be more brittle than bendy, which I clumsily discovered when applying way too much force while trying to glue an arm:
Yep, the ankles snapped! Totally my fault. Luckily, i managed to pin them as to make it almost complete invisible:
I also pinned three of the arms, the only one I felt comfortable not pinning was Nadia right arm, since it had both the wrist and forearm as a contact area. The rest really need to be pinned if you want to do any gaming with them since they only contact at the (very thin) wrist. I used 0.7mm brass wire which worked very well, just had to be careful drilling. As you can see in the pics, it came out fine in the end.
Overall I'm super happy with my purchase and would recommend Siren Miniatures to anyone! I'll probably be using these as Escher in Necromunda or Inquisitorial Acolytes for INQ28. Lovely models they are. Thanks Siren!
