Thanks all! Glad you're enjoying the blog. There'll be some painted Meganobz coming up real soon!

Keep up the awesome work!
Yep! A guy in my gaming group is running a conversion contest with that as the base model, and I knew I had to do something Orky with them.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Wrapped up three Meganobz, plus their grot buddies. I simplified the scheme a little bit because of how many plates of armor there were, and I think it was the right decision. I also liked getting the ammo cherub from the Devastator kit and making him an ammo runt with the help of a Grot head.

So like 8 years ago, a friend of mine built a Chaos Rhino and just left it at my house. I figured he wasn't missing it, so I beat the hell out of it and looted it! I'll be using it as a trukk in games of 40k, but I wanted to get at least one looted Rhino in the army because I like the look so much.
TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum
Thank you! I'm going to be working on a Squiggoth next; part of me wants to paint it red to match my little Squigs, part of me wants it to be green because, well, green is best.
Looking good, SRM. But I feel like the bases don't have enough Ultramarine helmets.
Thought for the day: Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

Bolt Action Germans: ~1200 pts
AOS Stormcast: Just starting.

So a few years ago (long before I started this army) a friend of mine gave me the remains of a miscast Squiggoth in a Ziploc bag. It had sat around in my Warhams box for years until a couple weeks ago when I decided to see what I could do with it. With a lot of green stuff, a few digs through my bitz box, and an awful lot of clipping and cutting, I'd built myself a proper howdah for the big beast! There's still some pretty bad problems with the model - a slipped mold happened somewhere obviously - I still think I did a decent job salvaging the model! Also my old second lamp I was using for photography started shooting sparks so I had to toss it; until I get a suitable replacement my lighting might be a little off. This first image shows his colors most accurately:

Hush you! SRM’s Ultramarines exude so much raw, retro power, nothing in the ‘verse can stop them.
Love your work on the Orks SRM, tons of character!
I can almost hear the sqiggoth making Godzilla noises.
To be fair, there's ALWAYS room for more Ultramarine helmets! A few of the 'Ardboyz even have Ultramarine shoulder pads because I couldn't make an army without putting at least a few Ultramarine icons in there. Although as a fan of retro stuff, you're gonna love what's coming up next!
And yeah, guess I've gotta make Godzilla noises every time I use ol' Squiggly now
It's been a little bit, but I've got more stuff for my Blood Axes! This time it's a unit of Kommandos. While these guys aren't really the best unit in the game, I've always dug the metals (the Nob is among my favorite minis ever) and they fit in thematically with Blood Axes too well not to take! It's a mix of Forgeworld bits, modern plastics, and 2005 metals on these guys.
Some older hams might recognize their camo scheme, which I based on the old 2nd ed Blood Axe Kommandos:
Beee-youtiful my fellow Massachussettsan! In particular (and maybe quite silly) I love that Ammo Cheru....grot. I'm lootin' that for sure.
I can't help but think, your camo could use a dash of yellow. Just to make it pop, and it would be very Orky thing to do. Plus bein' a proppa Bad Moon, Yellow is best!
Keep up the great work! I've been feelin' Mean and Green again, and am glad for the motivation.
Also, I wonder if we have the same friend? I happen to have one of those Squiggoths in a bag ready for some work to be done

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"
I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.
How awesome do they look! really cool Kommando's SRM I also love that Nob he's a really great model and the whole squad are painted beautifully, you've smashed it this time!

Those Ork Kommandoz are some of my favorites, I'd almost gone Blood Axe because of them!

Oy! Me boyz ain't yellow! I hope you can get inspired to paint some more Orks of your own - that's the whole point of threads like this (well, that and blatant ego-stroking, of course ) But feel free to take that grot idea! I'm gonna see if I can find another grot head to make the little stabby baby from the Librarian into another grot cherub.
Now that would be hilarious to make an Orky Parody of!

I finished the last of the Meganobz! They've been sitting on my painting table as I passed them over for Kommandos and other projects, but I've finally bulked the squad out to 9 of the big lugs.
And now that I've finished up the squad, here's all 9!
