There is a downside to sculpting tiles in chocolate coloured clay.....
Been working on a commission (which will debut here eventually) but am almost back in track to finish this marks of chaos set and then on to whatever the commission horde wants next!

New Project Start: Steampunk Wasteland Terrain
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Working on this at the same time as another commission that was spawned off the Chaos runes set, and it's looking like this one will finish first, so here's the first photos of our Steampunk Wasteland Terrain. Couldn't really think of a name to describe this because...well just look at the pictures. I have no Idea what it is...but it looks cool, and that all you need right?
Apologies for the photo quality...it will improve. I now have a shiny new hard drive installed in my computer, so I can use my regular camera instead of the phone camera!
Building the pieces:
Primed:
Starting on the ground:
Base colors:
After a couple of washes/glazes:
More later!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- New Project Start: Post Apocalyptic Terrain Set ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So I'm really excited about this project. We were commissioned to make at least 6, but up to 15 pieces of "Fallout" themed post-apocalyptic terrain. We're talking unexploded nukes, radioactive crap, big transformer towers, ruined everything and so on. Should be a ton of fun! So we started at that natural starting point. The nuke. Here are the WiP shots. I'll upload the finished shots of the nuke soon. Or for those who follow our facebook page, they're already up there. I thought about using a plastic easter egg for the bomb, but decided to go with clay, so I could make it sturdier and more dented. the start gave it a flat bottom to rest on covered in clay and fired cut out a bunch of plastic bits. I decided to model it roughly on the mini nuke from fallout. ish haha glued it to the MDF base and added some foam around it to be the rough shape of the dirt it's embedded in added more bits, and a toppled wall section started painting at this point I decided to add a little fence to fill in a pretty bland area (and by decided, I mean my wonderful partner suggested it and I took credit for it haha) some more paint and finished photos will be up tomorrowish or you can go over to the facebook page.

Good! Cause that's what the client wanted haha.
Should be at least 2 more pieces on the way Probably more! Automatically Appended Next Post: Here's the finished nuke!
After these photos were taken I did a bit more weathering and touch-ups. Also added a bit of slime oozing from underneath the bomb (naturally)

Love the sign! and the rust looks really good, but I'm not sure about the design itself, I'm saying that there wouldn't be a building that shape in the first place.
So maybe next time make one in a L shape so that people can see that its a collapsed corner of a building and then it would look really awesome. (not that it isn't awesome already)
good start though

aaand here goes pieces #3:
I started with a piece from one of the many eBay lots we've snagged over the years. I think it used to be part of a train bridge...regardless, it's some wrecked stuff now.
Chopped it up, then threw it in my destructo box (box with rocks and sharp metal) and gave it a good shake.
Added some foam concrete chunks, some foam bricks, some of these metal and piping bits
purchased here
I'll add in a rusty, muddy chain-link fence once the ground is base coated.
that's all for today

Your giving me an itch to scratch(build) with all these cool post apocalypse terrains. Unfortunately I'm trying to paint zombicide Black Plague currently so it's distracting. Keep up the good work, oh and subbed.
