So the Tau converted old Crisis Suit Commander with his Bodyguard:

Almost done, the last Infantry squad to come, a Riptide and the perhaps a weapon swap as she is finished.

Nice work on the Commander and bodyguard. Love the little blogs of white to breakup the orange.

evildrcheese, very observant. You are the first person to notice the reversed Tau Sept symbol.

One more squad of Firewarriors:

Then the army looked like this:

I love the Tau force all grouped like that. It has a very believable ratio of infantry/tanks/battlesuits. The colours are super clean and crisp and just overall has a great sharp look to it. I normally dislike fighting Tau on the tabletop but I'd gladly get my butt handed to me by this gorgeous force.

Holy Terra.

Nice work. I had a tau army a while back (well, "army", I think it could have been fielded as an allied detachment back back in 7th) and this kinda makes me want to go dig them out of the attic and repaint them.

Thanks Inevitable_Faith, EmberlordofFire8 and CragHack,

So one last addition to this army. A Riptide that has been magnetized for the various options you can give the model (including the head ). Last addition to this army, as it was always intended more as a challenge than one I would play regularly.

Thanks again to everyone who commented on this thread.

Cheers,

The classic brown scheme is my favorite. Well executed too! Though I think the blacks need a brighter edge highlight

Beautiful Tau, a real joy to behold! You've done serious painting justice on the vanilla Tau Sept scheme. The Riptide is fantastic, and great work across the board. The army shot is amazing - perhaps one with the big new fella, too?

That's quite an army, sir. Good to see whole armies painted. Something I should've done ages ago.

My favourite's got to be the converted head of the first commander. This is a pretty cool project. Very objective-driven and all. No meandering there.

You've got an enviable amount of miniatures here all painted really crisp. Marvellous!

Shas'O Shi'shova wrote:Hey mate i love the colour of your TAU, they are showcased in this post https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/702735.page?fbclid=IwAR2_5Jvr4QTu71TI7vPp6S5heEvFP9Jiu_H_3okKCm39YIeyvQ1XGK_kwVM

Can You tell me the colours you've used for the armour? the ochre parts! i would like to replicate them.

Cheers!

Shas'O Shi'shova,

Base coat (over a white primer coat) was Vomit Brown, followed by a highlight of Bronzed Flesh and then an extreme highlight of Bronzed Flesh mixed with Bleached Bone.
