Paint stripped. Only 6 in crap condition, and 40 to 50 sets of arms.

Flamer conversions plus a commander with beginings of a powerfist and left hand (that will need a thumb sculpted on).

Needed a counter assualt unit, so platoon command with flamer.

Beards added, and began heavy flamer sculpts.

More squat work done. Ive did a bit more sculpting on heavy flamers.

I had put marine arms on the bodies with a cadian flamer, but they had looked a bit crap so using squat arms again. Plan on using the flamer nozzles from the grey knight incinerators, putting them onto the roguectrader heavy bolters.

I have also finished the highlight on all the dark angels green sections. Just black bits, metal highlights, and bases to go.

Finished a subtle blue/black highlight on the black. Helps give it a more matt black look. One more highlight with more blue, then im nearly done.

Working on my heavy flamers, using grey knight incinerators for the nozzle. Not sure if i will attach fuel cannister to shoulder mounted unit, or have a cannister on the squats backs.

Really pleased with how my black came out. Black roughly highlighted with black/sky blue mix, then highlighted with black/blue/white. Only another 48 to go, along with metal highlights.

Got some preheresy meltas and flamers, and some plasma guns, so i aim to construct some scions this week, after i finsh painting my squats. All black highlights done. It was souk destroying, but its over now thankfully and worth the effort. Better pics to follow.

Beginning the bases. I had run out of graveyard earth, and had decided to try a vajello paint instead, as the new GW paints tend to be poor matches for old paint ranges. Its a good match, thankfully.

Looking good, like a proper army. I totally though the lasguns were snipe rifles until now Nice work.

Thanks. The rogue trader lasguns have a much longer barrel than the new ones, so look a little too big for squat models, giving them that sniper like look. Weird proportions are part of the old skool charm.

Notably, still not started or finished basing, and have instead begun painting flamer command squad. Will prob have them painted before i finish bases.

Yeah true, that old knight build a while back really emulated that odd proportion charm for me.

More work done on flamer command. Flesh tones done, reds next. Different feel paibting 5 rather than a large batch.

Looking good, I much prefer small batch painting if i'm honest.

Its more enjoyable, but i tend to be more pushe to finish if i have an unpainted pile on my desk. That and the feeling of an army mostly done is pretty sweet. Shame i have uni work coming up, otherwise coukd dash these guys of over a weekend.

Finally got around to basing models. Nothing fancy, sand and old school flock. Had to use one of my fancy expensive brushes to get pva glue on, so prob ruined them, but hey ho. Will try and post better pics tomorrow in natural light

Then onto squat/scion list.

Squat i will prob use as a priest, or sarge for shotgun vets

Got some anvil industry trench shotguns. Very thin so scary to drill and pin, but look amazing once pinned to squat arms

More progress on shotguns. Milliput will go on tomorrow, though bit naffed off as at least 10 to 12 of the plastic squats i bought are unusable due to major melting of detail due to plastic. Can get arms off them, so not a complete loss, but nothing about the damage on the listing.

Great to see some Squats being put to good use!!! I have a few bodies I could trade for if you need more.

(Also, great choice of username - band or manga inspired? Tbh I only know the band, and they were great.)

Thanks for offer, but got enough useable squats from that lot to finish up my list. 32 squats, but half are melted down the side, and the rest need some spot work to use (ie cover ups with extended beards). Still leaves me more than enough to finish this army, and enough arms to finish my scion list. Have left negative feedback, and moved on. Should have tried for partial refund, but cant be bothered with the fuss. Got another 29 squats ordered too from a different buyer, so hopefully they will be in better condition.

Your dead right on the name, from the band rather than the manga, though i have read a good few volumes of that and its much funnier than her other work.

Only meant to make 6 shotguns, but goin for 18 now. Having too much fun making them. Will give me option to replace lasguns with shotguns. Good for clearing out mines. Just need to order more guns

Thank you, it keeps growing arms and legs. Am going to try and stop infantry after shotguns are done and move onto scion list, but tempted to make ogryns
