Awesome. I feel you ought to slap a big "Duncan Approved" watermark across your pics now!

Seriously, though, the Stormraven is excellent.

Raven looks good. It’s always fun trying to get pictures of oddly shaped big things.

Nice to see your army getting the attention it deserves.

I can’t recommend hats enough. As we get older the options are either headgear, or to shave the rest off, get some service studs implanted and yell all the time.

I think we all know the answer:

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I like doing weird batch painting groupings. This time around I did a squad of 3 scout bikers and the old Captain Draco model from 3rd ed, who will be serving as a lieutenant.
Fast Attack choices are universally kind of a pain to paint:

This guy was real fun though:

Painted up a Land Speeder, the newer kit kinda sucks but sucks a lot less than the old one from the 90s.

Great work! Love the Land Raider and the converted scout bikers. Are those old chaos knights helms?

Don't take it so hard, BrotherSRM. Lots of successful people are bald. Like Indrick Boreale or Lord Carron.

I really like the weathering on the Land Speeder. And the Commander guy is looking ace!

Thought for the day: Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.
30k Ultramarines: 2000 pts
Bolt Action Germans: ~1200 pts
AOS Stormcast: Just starting.
The Empire : ~60-70 models.
1500 pts

Nice stuff. To bad bikes squads can’t mix like crusader squads, that would be a lot of fun.

Of the 4 land speeders I’ve assembled, I’ve yet to build the “new” one. The last one I built wasn’t that bad, but at the time I was building it I has significantly more time in the hobby then the first 2 (which were built in 3rd)

You have a critical mass of these guys to hit the table? Quite the force shaping up.

Oh man, that would be cool! Doing a second bike squad of Marines to roll nearby them would be sort of the same, but they couldn't quite keep pace with them. I last built the old Land Speeder in 4th edition, so maybe I have the hobby skills/emotional maturity to actually survive building one of those things now

And according to my roster sheet, I have 2739 points of these guys painted up now!

If Boreale can rock it, I can probably do alright. And thanks! The weathering is simple, and what I usually go for: Some real quick sponge chipping with Necron Compound, a drybrush of Steel Legion Drab, then a drybrush of Karak Stone.

Finished painting up some more Templars and it made me realize two things:
1. I really don't like painting capes, and can never for the life of me get smooth transitions
2. My phone camera blows and everything not directly centered looks like it's smeared in vaseline

First is Marshall "Too Old For This gak" Löwe:

All your stuff looks amazing!
Two questions:
How do you do the dirt on the vehicles?
The hoods on the Neophites, and the Cherub. how is that done?

Keep up the good work! Inspirational!

I have nothing useful to add.

Awesome stuff! Where does that Techmarine’s pack come from? Or is it just an insane kitbash?

Thanks! The dirt is just a successive drybrush of Steel Legion Drab and Karak Stone, nothing complicated! I work it into the recesses more than I would with a normal drybrush.

The heads on the Neophytes and Cherub are from the Warriors of Chaos set from Warhammer Fantasy/Age of Sigmar - I took their helmets and shaved off the horns.

It's a combination of the heavy flamer backpack from the Sternguard kit, the servo arm from the Tactical Squad missile launcher, a hubcap from the old biker wheels sprue, and the loading lugs from an Admech Kataphron kit.

Very nice, especially how you've managed to maintain the Templar flavour even with a very different palette.
