I think asking people to have basic levels of empathy for others might be going a bit too far. They just can't handle it.

I agree whole heartedly Geoff. Lance Armstrong was stripped of his titles in a bold faced political maneuver, and I won't listen to a podcast that wants to virtue signal against him.

I'll echo the same point, got a bit much for me at about the hour mark. The points were reasonable (don't be a jerk about drawing bad stuff on models) but tbh it's not what I want to hear from a silly podcast about plastic space men.

Other than that, you've still got great chemistry and you're both hilarious. Maybe keep it lighter if you can, everyone knows sexism is bad but I do enjoy hearing your thoughts on the new Knight models.

I dunno, I think that anyone taking issue with the message of this episode really needs to sit down and examine themselves. It's not a call to radical revolution. It's basic human decency you should have learned as a kid.

Coward. If you can't even listen to it because of what they're saying, you are the problem in this hobby, and society at large. If you're so fragile that you actually have to turn it off because it upsets you, you absolutely need to re-evaluate your beliefs. If you need to flinch away from them being questioned then the intellectual basis for your convictions must be eggshell thin.

I don't think everyone knows sexism is bad though.

There are some people who think sexism is good, or that women are lying about it and that it doesn't exist. There are people on this forum who have said that at enormous verbose length.

Same as some people theming their models after WWII. Some people do it to honour their grandparents/great grandparents service in WWII. Some people do it because they like the schemes. With people doing Nazi stuff sometimes they are trying to be edgy, sometimes they want to signal to other people that they are racist and/or anti-semitic. To be honest a lot of the time both. But how do other people observing tell the difference?

Having just finished listening, I can only say thank you for both entertaining me, and sticking to your principles while addressing a serious issue in the community and how we show ourselves to the rest of the world. The wife loves your podcast, and she doesn't even play 40k.

To the people that stopped listening due to "politics", you should take a moment of self reflection. If these two smartass guys can come up with multiple examples of inappropriate behavior from fairly known names from our community in the span of 2 weeks, and you have the gall to cry politics and try to say it isn't an issue, then maybe you are part of the problem.

I was worried it might be a little heavy for our typically lighthearted take on the hobby, but it's an important conversation. Unfortunately not everybody knows or notices sexism and some of the uglier practices of the community at large, and calling that out when we see it is important to make us, as a community, a better and more welcoming place. Glad y'all are enjoying the show! It's a lively time in the hobby, for reasons both good and bad, and drawing attention to both the highs (Cool new models! Fun games!) and bad (Racism! Sexism!) is something we've always tried to do.

I just don't get why people need to bring the symbols of real world hatred into a setting where they don't belong. Putting on the Iron Cross and divisional symbols on WW2 German tank models is one thing. But Orks with Nazi arm-bands? Knights with the Totenkopf symbol on it? C'mon, that's just tacky and distasteful.

Good work on the podcast guys. It's one of my favorites.
