No but since the little fluff that says the Tau fleet is gone (supposedly going somewhere within the Tau empire as humans think) also points how the Burning Warp storm it's appearing randomly across the Galaxy while it recedes it can be a hint about the whole Fleet being dragged into the Warp and dropped out just in a whole different corner of the Galaxy thus allowing the Tau to gain another foothold way beyond their current space travel capacity.

I'm wondering whether GW will do some kind of "twist" with the Yncarne or Ynnead at the end. There are already RL people speculating that the Yncarne (with its slightly Slaaneshi aesthetics) may be corrupted by Chaos, and Phil Kelly's ambiguous "or so they think" when talking about how the Ynnari think they have broken the hold of Slaanesh and achieved salvation.

Alternatively, I speculate whether the Yncarne and Ynnead will save the Eldar in the way they think they will be saved as the path into the future supposedly forked into the Rhana Dandra or into darkness with the sound of a mourning bell. It could be that the Yncarne and Ynnead will still lead the Eldar to death and only then save the Eldar as originally prophesied. In other words, Eldrad's attempt to alter fate won't work and Ynnead offers salvation on its own terms.

I also wonder whether GW will ever link Cegorach's plans and trick on Slaanesh to Ynnead. In the Valedor novel, the Harlequin play's final act showed Cegorach allowing himself to be tripped up by Slaanesh, in order to distract Slaanesh from Ynnead, and then just before Slaanesh landed the killing blow on Cegorach, Slaanesh turned around to see Ynnead about to attack. The play ended with Slaanesh showing fear on its face.

An interesting point, i could see this twist happening. I also have the Valedor novel and love it tremendously. And if the summary has been any indicator they haven't been entirely loyal to it. They did make the tyranid monstrosities, but Yriel should still have been absent from Iyanden i think by this point with Sylandri Vielwalker. It does mention in the end of the novel that he was not seen again for many cycles.
They also forget to mention (Aloec, or Aluec, i forget the spelling on his first name) Sunspear, who was the senior most Autarch of Biel-Tan during the Valedor novel, he maintains his position as the highest ranking autarch on Biel-Tan in the Craftworlds codex as he leads Biel-tan and Iyanden forces to destroy more worlds to defeat hive fleet behemoth post Valedor.

So they do have a little bit of explaining to do on these inconsistencies and character disappearances and reappearances but otherwise i am pleased so far and will continue to watch and buy eldar releases from them as it has been fun and entertaining thus far.

I noticed those inconsistencies as well. It wouldn't be the first time GW tripped up on itself when their writers don't bother to do their research or do so and don't care about because they want to make their mark on the 40K universe by writing in new universe altering plot twists and .new characters.

Anyone else note a Genestealer Cult has been confirmed on Terra?

If I had to guess, the Genestealer Cult (assuming it is mentioned ever again) is being set up as the alien enemy for the revived Primarch to take down in the next book, or alternatively as behind the reason for a split in the Imperium. Like for example revealing one or more High Lords are part of the Genestealer Cult and that is why they side against Guilliman, in order to preserve the Cult.

It strikes me more as the Deus Ex Machina device that directs a Hive Fleet of tremendous size directly towards Terra, disrupting what I presume will be a second Siege of Terra during Abbadon's 13th Black Crusade.

"Abbadon has the Imperium on the ropes, ladies and gentlemen, and he's asking for a chair! Yes, he's got the chair, this is the end, he's raising it for the final str- OH MY GOD, ladies and gentlemen, he's been tackled and disarmed by The Swarmlord outta nowhere! Ladies and gentlemen, what an upset! I don't know if Abbadon will be able to recover from this!"

Little pieces o side info that my hint future develop.

- A genestealer Cult has been found in Terra with at least 4th generation members.

- The Damocles Gulf Fire Warpstorm it's receding but seems to also spread randomly trought the warp so anything engulfed by it may end warped across the galaxy.(The Tau fleet is reported as missing)

- A massive Warpstorm near Oberon it's being *fought* by Sautekh Dinasty while thousand of their pyramids cage a kind of Obelisk, the ones who make contact with it aren't destroyed but somehow are duplicated.

- Waagh Badrukk seems to be floating towards Catachan, following a wounded Titanic Void whale, the Waagh it's almost as huge as a whole system.

- Lucius the Ethernal spotted in Extremis six with a Traitor titan Legion... also odd rumour about a sighted *huge snake* killing everything the Astra Militarum is sending against.

- sudden Explosion from Forgeworld Glenescrede Raptus, all psykers at 18 suns from Terra haunted by a *Sol Daemon* emerging and with hunger from the void, along visions of metalic tentacles pushing into a closed vault.

So a lot of handy info there for future development.

Sounds like the other old terrible guard models are getting retired yay.

thats a good point, if both worlds fall, it'd be a strong signifier for a new line.

Probably, the last entry on the timeline in the Genestealer Cult codex mentions the arrival of another massive Hive Fleet that dwarfs all before it. Presumably this isn't referring to Hive Fleet Leviathan since they are already mentioned earlier in the timeline...

No complaints from me though if that did come to pass. It would be quite hilarious for Tyranids to play the part of heroes (if only briefly) for once.

Overall though I think the quality of the writing has gone down. A lot of the recent writing pretty much boils down to discrete battles/encounters that in themselves consist of a series of paragraphs showing unit type A being taken out by B which is in turn taken out by C. Repeat until time for characters to suddenly do stuff or for stuff to happen. The universe feels a lot smaller when it is the same bunch of named unique characters running around and running into each other all the time.

Try reading unburdened the the honoured.... Omg it is painful.

Honoured reads like a bad story someone is telling you.

John is a marine John said yes to frank.
Frank looked at John and said yup.
40 pages later omg I hope everyone of them dies so the book ends.

Loved both summaries. But does anyone think that GW could use Yvraine to bring back a dead primarch or two? I mean she turned Rubric Marines back from dust and healed old what's his face after his body blew up from the Nurgle "gift". I mean, if she can bring back Rubric Marines and blown up bodies why couldn't the BA bring Sanguinius to her from Baal, Dorn's hand, etc.

It's not like Ferrus Manus's wound. Just reattach the head and apply a little sodder.

The most classic rendition suggests that Sanguinius was killed, but that his body remained mostly intact.

Its been a while since I read the extremely old literary rendition of that encounter, so I don't recall if that contradicts the rendition or not.

A friend showed me it - it's literally a sidebar paragraph that just says that evidence of a genestealer cult has been uncovered on terra. Some nests have been destroyed, but overall the infestation was far from eradicated.

Interesting, perhaps the book coming out from BL in May will be about that. Though a story about an Inquisitor and conspiracy on Terra could go in pretty much any direction.

Interesting- I was wondering if there had been pointers to what changes to the Nid story would be, bar the cross breeding of the two hive fleets by the DE. Hoping they do a similar job with the other Xenos factions as they have done with this release for the Eldar.

Anyone get the reference to the crystalline web/possession sidebar? Not a reference I'm familiar with.

I wondered if it was something to do with the Crystal Spiders that protect the infinity circuits of the Craftworlds perhaps somehow interfacing directly with the real world.

I agree with you. The writing is definitely poorer than it used to be.

For example the Yvraine kicking the knife into the neck of the Tyrant was beyond cringe-worthy. Some of the dialogue between characters is appalling too.

Ok, so, does anyone has any idea what the "Daemon Sun" was? Because with that description, I can only think of Cthugha from the Cthulhu Mythos. It was said it was headed for the Sol sector too, soooo, yet another chair?

P.S: I rather enjoyed the book, it was quite a fun and action packed read. I felt quite sorry for Ahriman: He finally found a way to reverse the bloody thing but ... yeah, not gonna be easy to do it again

It occurs to me now that the Ynnari is basically the T-800 in Terminator 2.

When they pop out of the Webway to bail the Cadians out: "Get down."

Sylandri to Cawl: "Come with us if you want to live."

Haven't had a chance to read the book yet (just the spoiler, and I've only read that once), what is the context in which a "Daemon Sun" is discussed/shown?

The only thing that really pops into my mind would be the Tyrant Star, which appears pretty much exclusively in FFG 40k RPG materials, and is associated with Chaos, madness, death, and destruction.
