I have a thing for red bolters now. They look so much better than black ones to me now.

After having done weathering on my MKIII Word Bearers, I think you did a bit of a better job

Sterling stuff, its nice to see the return of the red bolter casing.
How are you doing the combat blades? They look quite different to the default ones in Calth and Prospero.

@ EDC and Justerin thanks for the input, greatly appreciated. I almost tore the whole thing apart last night thinking it did not look quite right. Will post a pic soon of how the painting is coming along.

@Gummy my weathering is mostly sponge chipping with light wash of Agrax Earthshade. I took a look at your weathering and thought it looked great.

@Daemonjellybaby the combat blade is a small conversion using the blade from the Aspiring Champion and then gluing it to the hilt of the combat blade in the Calth box. Wish I had more of them to convert with.

I like the old-school flamer nozzle on that marine. Nice find

Ah ok, thanks for that.
I think the DE executioner kit has some similar curved blades if you're looking for more.

Looks fine to me. Just add a gas container to make it extra obvious it is a flamer.

Nice and clean . I'd suggest some scorching around the flamer nozzle - or some more if you already did . Does the kneepad make him an iron warrior?

Blue wash, then a black/brone drybrush for the nozzle does wonders. If you have weathering powders, does are also brilliant for adding a nice burnt crust

Looks a lot better to me Maybe a teensie bit of blue wash near the back, but that's me nitpicking. Lovely work!

It's easier to show burn marks on a bronze nozzle. Blues and purples are good for heat damage.

You're welcome . It's one of the strengths of dakka to me: constructive feedback and good suggestions. Try and get MajorTom11 in your thread, he's tremendous help when it comes to learning new techniques.

4th Marine done, really like how the sword turned out, tried a few new things with his face. Purple base then built up the flesh tones went back with a purple wash then some reiksland flesh wash to finish. CC always appreciated. Next up is the last Deathwatch member, will post up some pics of him soon.

Thanks for stopping by.

@ Warboss_Waaazag thank you, it was airbrushed using a metallic blue then blending up to the silver.

@Graven, lol he does look angry, or as Gitz said a bit surprised!
