It would be very amusing but sadly unlikely as Malcador suggested making the Primarchs women but the Emperor thought he was joking.

Malcador to Dorn in "Scars".

Malcador smiled. ‘You brothers – such a nest of rivalries. I warned him to make you sisters, that it would make things more civilised. He thought I was joking. I wasn’t.’

Sanguinius' body is fully preserved in the Golden Sarcophagus on Baal. There is no mention of him healing per say like Guillame's body was doing in his stasis though.

I am a Blood Angels player and I for one would think bringing Sanguinius back would cheapen the lore surrounding his sacrifice in canon.

Do I think Sanguinius is coming back... absolutely. GW will not miss the chance to bring back a model that would sell like hot cakes. All four of the big chapters will get their primarch's back in my opinion.
Didn't DC do a bit after Superman died where there was a whole bunch of 'Supermans' running around? GW could do that with the time of Ending. Lots of acclaimed 'Sanguinius returned' (Sanguinator, Mephiston, perhaps even Dante et al) doing the rounds until the original Space Vampire (not Curze, the grimdark one. Sanny G the noblebright one) decides to do the vampire thing and come back to life for real and settle the score?

I've seen the kinda nests of rivalries etc that women can engage in, I'd likewise take as a joke anyone who suggests the primarchs being women would be a MITIGATING factor on that

It would be cool to see them all return, but I will be let down if the confirmed dead ones are somehow reanimated. A dead primarch is as important to the storyline as a living one. Heck, Ferrus Manus dies in the beginning of the HH series, but he is always remembered, and we have had several throwback stories including him. Primarchs still talk about him. As the reader, we know his future, and that makes his path all the more painful to see. He had a chip on his shoulder. Deep down he doubted himself, and overcompensated in order to gain his fathers approval and *manly* affection. He viewed Dorn, Guilliman and Sanguinius as the Emperors favoured sons, while he was left waiting in the wings. The tragedy is his bellicose and foolhearty actions not only cost him his life, but cause him to be the FIRST casualty, and failure, of his father. Him being gone is better for the story than plopping his head on a dreadnought so he can Hulk-smash heretics. IMO his story arc is the only interesting thing about the Iron Hands. They are a boring and wooden legion, but their Primarch is one of my favorites.

PS: I play Night Lords and if Curze comes back from the grave I will be very disappointed. He welcomed death. He craved it. Let him have it. I am not current on the HH series, I am reading Angel Exterminatus (23rd book) now, so I don't know if Sevatar is confirmed KIA, but let some of the legions have a super badass space marine like him act as a figurehead. "EVERYONE GETS A PRIMARCH" would be lazy storytelling.

I am actually slightly surprised that they chose Guilliman as the first loyal Primarch to resurrect for 2 reasons. Firstly, the most recent Dark Angels codex made a big point of the fact that Lion El Johnson is fully healed and just waiting for his cosmic alarm clock to go off.

Secondly, having Johnson return would actually be more interesting in a lot of ways than Guilliman. Johnson doesn't give 2 hoots what anyone else thinks and his return would upset a lot more apple-carts. Guilliman has already reluctantly accepted the Ecclesiarchy are now part of the fabric of the Imperium and has decided to cause as little fuss as possible.

Guilliman may be the Primarch the Imperium needs most as he is a great multi-tasker and organiser. But I can't help thinking that from a fluff POV, the Lion would have been a lot more interesting.

now see, I disagree because the Lion would not have done what Gulliman did. the Lion woulda taken the dark angels and raced off to fight chaos. he would NOT have gone to Terra, sat down and tried to bring about changes. in that regard only Gulliman would be intreasted in doing that type of thing, meaning Gulliman's return was more likely to bring upheval and change,

I'm not sure I agree. The HH novels show the Lion as being quite resentful of his more charismatic brothers. He believed that he should have been Warmaster (even if no one else agrees). Rather than just rushing off to fight Chaos, I can see him trying to take make more direct control of the Imperium now that there is no one left to challenge him.

Guilliman is playing the long game in accepting he needs to save the Imperium as it is before he can start fixing it. The Lion would apply his usual "my way or the highway" attitude.

Maybe they'll just be lazy and repeat history. Lion wakes up next and think Guilliman has made a coup to take over the imperium. They fight until sanguinius is resurrected and they make him figurehead. And then Russ is there due to popularity.

I solidly second the idea of each store getting a sector to fight over! Yes please
And also, don't bring all the Primarchs back. Playing the game got a lot less fun when I'd roll up with 2,000 points of army to find the enemy was exclusively superheavies, can you imagine the shenanigans people would get up to with multiple Primarchs?

Although a galaxy-wide witch hunt to find Fabius Bile and prevent him recreating Primarchs, with all comers vs Bile and his New Men, I'd be in like Flynn!

...And on the subject of New Men... Isn't Guilliman working on a batch of something very similar?

would you guys be excited if the primarchs started to show back up? With the new marines, things could get pretty radical!

No. The primarchs should have stayed history.

If feel like the NuMarines fulfill the role of "ancient weapon from a bygone era (read: 30k) that are valued for their strength and scarcity" well enough. With more than one Primarch the line between 30k and 40k is going to get really blurred, and distort the whole purpose and tone of both (I prefer them to have vastly different tones and aesthetics).

40k drinking game: take a shot everytime a book references Skitarii using transports.

To be very specific, if GW brought the Sons of Malice up and a daemon Curze was found leading them, fething over Chaos and the Imperium and pretty much everyone else, would you still be upset?

I don't know The Sons of Malice, I have only read books from the HH series and a couple 40k Night Lords books. So without fully understanding the question, I would have to say yes I would be upset. I think confirmed dead primarchs is crucial to the story
