Nice work on the plaguecaster and new pox walkers. They match up nicely with your pustulant crew . The demon prince will be a nice addition as well. Isn't finecast dead? I thought they got rid of it officially a couple years ago now. Aren't they using the same resin as forgeworld for these molds now?

Had not noticed that finecast is dead, that said I did not notice any resin warnings on the instructions or plain white box packaging. I have not had enough experience with FW resin to say either way though.
The Pustulant Crew is a pretty good army name, I may well "borrow" that Theo. I really need to up my background and character name game.

Pretty simple really. A sand and grit mix pva'd onto the base. I let this dry for a day and then add another layer of PVA to seal it. Add any stones as desired. Then it is progressive dry rushing Mournfang Brown>Baneblade Brown>Ushabti Bone> white. Then add Tufts and static grass where you want.
@Paradigm: They are big fellas, really characterful sculpts though.

Have made a nice bit of progress with my Death Guard army, am really loving this army.
First up is my Plagueburst Crawler (I have another to paint). I love this model, so tanky, spiky and Nurgly!
I also like the individual character like elite choices in the army, my complete favourite is the Tallyman. Such a characterful miniature.
"Even Whilst We Fight,
We Watch.
Even Whilst We Kill, We Judge.
Midst War's Full Fury, Still
We See.
Midst All Your Guards,
We Still Strike.
We Are The Death Lord's
Icy Gaze
And We Are His Reaping Blade."
The Oath Of The Deathshroud.
And to top it all off a Rhino as a Plague Marine taxi. Just a few plastic additions to make it a bit more Death Guard and also some modelling barbed wire for the dozer blade:
And finally a group shot and a hint of what is to come:
Thanks for looking!

Cracking chunk of progress there, those subtle additions to the Rhino totally sell it as DG.

Yep, nothing say snow Death Guard like barb wire.
Love the Nihlox (whatever it’s called) accents on the figs, almost looks like a deathly glow.

Cheers, I didn't want to go the full on tentacles, guts and pustules route quite yet. May save that for a Land Raider or the like.
@Theo, the Nihilakakakakak oxide is a useful paint, if I was more skilled I think I would use a normal teal just to provide more control. As it is it suits me just fine.
Have now based my 14 Plague Marines from the new kit, the Plague Brethren online only three pack, icon bearer and the grenade/Spewer toting Foul Blightspawn.
In total that gives me 28 Plague Marines, so 4 units of 7. The breakdown is:
7 Plague Marines, 3 Plasma guns.
7 Plague Marines, 2 Blight Launchers.
7 Plague Marines, 2 Meltaguns
7 Plague Marines, close combat with 2x Flails, 2x bubotic axe and mace of contagion and 2x Plague knives.
All in all I really like the new PM kit, the instructions give you choices of 14 builds but by mixing up the arms, shoulder pads, heads, back packs and torso front plates you can create a fair variety of poses and miniatures. You just have to be careful when test fitting to see if things work, you also need to trim some locator pegs on torsos and heads and the like.

Great work on all of the Death Guard stuff. It's looking really impressive, and so much so fast as well!
Is there much variation in the Plagueburst Crawler kit? I'm wondering how unique that multiples will be - and how much customisation is in the kit and how much we need to bring ourselves.

The Plague Marines and Land Raider both look amazing. Are any of the troopers the "7-man tac squad" box ones? I admit that at this stage I can't tell them apart from the starter set ones. Thanks for the info on the Crawlers as well. I've been thinking of getting a trio of them but I'll want to make those pustules and rends in their armour plating look a little more unique.

I understand the desire for the three Plagueburst Crawlers, I need/want another to complete my trio. The thing is with Death Guard you have Carte Blanche to add conversion work to make each one unique.
As for the Plague Marines above of the 14 shown two are from the multi part PM box, namely the two newest special weapons Marines. The other two are from the Plague Brethren set. I planned my purchases to make four 7 man squads of unique marines. Namely:
7x Dark Imperium Marines.
3x Easy to build Marines.
3x Plague Brethren Marines.
1x Icon Bearer Marine, weapon swap to have two Plague Knives.
14x Multi Part Plague Marines.
Will add some pictures for you later.
