I was going to post that! You could take the property in several different ways, depending on which bit of the canon you adapt. Either a goofy throwback to 80's sword-and-sandals movies like Beastmaster or Yor, where Celtic barbarians are travelling through time and LSD dimensions, and fighting aliens with LEYSER GUNS, or go for something a bit more serious, and base it on his stint as the "anti-Conan", circa the Horned God arc.

"The 75mm gun is firing. The 37mm gun is firing, but is traversed round the wrong way. The Browning is jammed. I am saying "Driver, advance." and the driver, who can't hear me, is reversing. And as I look over the top of the turret and see twelve enemy tanks fifty yards away, someone hands me a cheese sandwich."

Locke & Key.

A neighbor of mine and I kind of run a "comic swap" every few months and man, I devoured that series.

They have tried to put together a Locke & Key show two or three times now, but every time it falls through and it kills me. I think it would be an incredible story on the screen. It would blow crap like American Horror Story.

Saga might manage to pass as an animated series, but the character designs are often too bizarre I think for live action and you'd only be able to air it on Starz or Adult Swim.

I could live with that.

I <3 Saga.

While I believe that the Drune / Fomor Slaine stuff would be awesome to see as live action, I'm going to go modern:

Alien Legion

... at least until Jugger becomes the series' Wolverine

Well my perennial first pick, the Legion of Superheroes already got a cartoon that lasted 2 seasons and had as many as 3 good episodes so there's that.

How about another deep cut...

Haywire! A schizophrenic homeless guy with an insanely powerful suit of psychic powered armor, fighting various ninjas, corporations, terrorists, a cyber dominatrix and a crippled fireman all of whom ALSO have crazy suits of power armor and in the end everyone dies.

I forgot if he has a 3 way with the ninja girl and the dominatrix but if he didn't he should have.

Failing that, how about...

SUPREME!

A clear Superman rip off but (had it ever been written competently) a cool twist. Superm- I mean SUPREME! after almost single-handedly winning World War II took off to the stars. Now he's back with all the arrogance and self-righteousness of the Greatest Generation and all the power of SUPREME! He spends the first issue ripping a bunch of terrorists limb from limb.

(I should note Alan Moore later did a very very cool version that was an even more direct Superman lift, I'm not talking about that)

So just imagine, he comes back and sees how America/the world has changed. Spin the dial, pick an issue. Abortion, women's lib, civil rights, gay marriage, terrorism, decolonization, oh just pick anything in the world and imagine what your most reactionary relative would do if they had the power of SUPREME!

And @#$%ing let SUPREME! do it. Build a mile-high border wall, burn down every Planned Parenthood clinic, level North Korea...

And no one can stop him...

Alien Legion is...modern?

It's over 30 years old!

More modern than the swords & sandals stuff that goes back to REH & Frazetta's Conan.

But I was thinking, and should have written, "futuristic". Sorry for the poor word choice.

Just reread it over the weekend, makes no sense, but so, so good.

Would kill for a Haywire action figure.

Damn, I remember this! LOVED IT! They even had an issue with patterns to make your own set of AL armor in the back of the book. Never got around to making a set for me but always wanted one. A damn good comic.
