Soccer is the second most boring major sport to watch, beaten only by golf. I honestly don't understand the hype people get into about the game, they're total snooze fests where maybe 2-3 goals get scored per game total and other than that it's a bunch of running around the field uselessly passing the ball back and forth. Announcers practically hyperventilating over a few passes or the occasional fight over absolutely nothing. I swear they must be on crack and speed to find any of that exciting.

I can see maybe it would be fun to play Soccer and it's good exercise, but watching it is utterly uninteresting.

There's nothing on Earth that is more boring than baseball

But also hockey is quite boring. In fact those sports are only loved in a few countries in the world.

Scoring every second is way more boring than an entire match without a single goal, that's why I don't like those sports like basketball or tennis which end with 150-200 points scored. Volley is an exception.

150+ Points in a basketball game? Now, I haven't watched regularly in a long time, but I can bet those are still extremely rare. Honestly, I don't think 100+ point games are the norm, but again I haven't watched in a long time.

Regardless, a good even matched basketball game is an exciting thing to watch. Even more so if you have two superstar players going up against each other. Bird/Jordan. Kobe/Jordan. Shaq/Fething Anybody. (I stopped watching after Jordan retired, really all I can go on here)

Enjoy this! He has the fething Flu! THE FLU!

In a team game, I don't see the appeal of this at all. Whilst it was exciting for the first couple astonishing runs when he first arrived, international rugby involving New Zealand was got really boring when Jonah Lomu was dominating every game.

There are few words that can make a Canadian act in an impolite manner. Don't push it, pal.

Dude is obviously trolling. Hockey is easily one of the most dynamic sports to watch, even if you have no clue what's going on.

And I'm not even Canadian.

You're probably right, but I have met people who confuse "I don't know the rules/tactics to this sport" and "This sport is boring".

We were once so close to heaven, St. Peter came out and gave us medals; declaring us "The nicest of the damned".

Very few people have completely dominated the game. Jordan doesn't even dominate the game I linked, though he does play very very well. Jordan was arguably the goat. However, he didn't win everything while he was at the top. There were a lot of superstar players around him. Look at that game I linked. You got the Utah Jazz and the Chicago Bulls. The Jazz have a young John Stockton and Karl Malone. Also two of the best players of all time. Both of these teams are stacked with talent.

This made for very exciting games.

Australia Vs Honduras for a place at the World Cup. If Australia win, will they be dancing on the streets of Melbourne?

Ah, there you go. After having to defeat the might of Syria, now we have to overcome powerhouse Honduras? Obviously the power behind FIFA is terrified of Australia winning the World Cup, and so are desperate to put so many obstacles in our way.

As to whether people will be happy, there's a section of the Australian population that follows soccer. Mostly ex-pats. I hear stats every so often that soccer is our third sport by some measures, and they normally get good size crowds to Australian games, but all the broadcast rights are with our smaller, much cheaper government tv station, and the crowds at club level games are pretty small.

But I guess most people get caught up in following a national team, even if they don't care much for the sport.

There's probably no conversation more inane than people saying they don't like some sport or another.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

A 150 point basketball game is not usually seen in professional play, and that's at most 75 baskets, almost certainly less with the three point shots.

In what world does tennis regularly reach 150-200 points? It's first to 4, usually.

https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_Playoffs_2017

Just have a look at NBA playoffs 2017, the average is not even 150 points per game but usually 200+. Of course I was considering the points scored by both teams in total. Even if you count them as "succesfull shots" of 1 point instead of 2-3, at competitive levels there's an average of more than a point scored per minute.

About tennis' points, I was considering every ball played as a point, not only the aggregation of several points, and I was considering both players when calculating the points in total. Even in that sport that's an average of 1 point scored per minute, if not more. It doesn't matter if they value 15 instead of one. I find that sport very similar to basketball, the game is pretty much the same for its entire duration, there aren't notable events like goals in soccer or touch downs in american football.

A soccer match has on average 2-3 points (goals) scored in 90 minutes plus extra time, considering both teams. It's a completely different approach.

4 teams qualified from the asian stage plus one to the international playoffs are more than enough. Austrialia ended up behind Saudi Arabia in their group stage, they deserve to pass a few rounds of play offs.

At least you dominate when you get to use your own rules for it :-P . If for no other reason than that no one else understands the rules to Ozzy Rules Football, much less plays it.
Also, is it better if someone says they don't like any sports?

Bingo.

It's hockey season. There is no other sport.

... except for that 'baseball' thing, and the thing with the pig and the pads. Since they're on all the time, presumably someone in this country watches them.

The fans and most umpires barely understand the rules in AFL.

Because we're so keen to play someone, anyone in AFL, and picking on the dozen social clubs running around Samoa would be just too cruel, we went and made this deal with Ireland and their Gaelic football comp to play an international series of a hybrid game that's part AFL, part Gaelic football, that's actually most 100% of a thing that makes absolutely no sense at all. Every so often the series break out in huge brawls because in both Ireland and Australia its part of the national character to respond to confusion by punching somebody, and then the games get shut down for a few years, then everyone gets nostalgic about all the punch ups and they start it up again.

Also, is it better if someone says they don't like any sports?

It's okay to not like one sport, or not like any sport. People don't have to like anything they don't want to. And so, you know, if someone says 'Hey Bran Dawri do you like soccer or some other sport?" then it's okay to say "I don't like soccer, I actually don't like any sport", if, you know, that's what your opinion is.

What's weird is seeing a bunch of people talking about a sport, or just sports in general, and going over to them and joining the conversation just to say "I don't like that sport, or any sport in general." You know, if you don't like something, don't get involved in it.

...boy I can't wait to watch International Rules again

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...
