We'll see when the time comes. Hopefully the theories of a human hero next(possibly the famous architect Valius Maliti) prove true and we see but with the recent Firestorm artwork keeping the soldiers looking imperial I doubt they'll be changed anytime soon.

maybe i am just still salty, but i prefer the direction of the sylvaneth, overlords, fyreslayers, etc.. and want them to keep exploring the new, the firestorm set was ok. just sick of stormcast (even have a buddy harping on me to add some to my freeguild force to '"beef it up")

They certainly would beef it up. Though sticking to pure humans is admirable too and something I do as well but still have Stormcast and Wanderer allies to spice things up at times.

You could always kitbash to make them fit in better as well.

They are an old force used also to represent Arnor for lotr, they have a green and steel color scheme, basically knights, halberdiers and archers (with a general and a pair of canons who dont get lotr time) I personally despise stormcast, so would rather they never stain my table (but will fight them) as I post often enough to make people want to slap me. I was thinking something else to bolster them though.

I hope that GW eventually decides to do with other legacy factions what they did with Sylvaneth. I love the mixture of Old World units and AoS units! I think it would be cool to use Klatz's idea of different aesthetics for the different realms. Maybe make realm-specific upgrade sprues for the human forces.

A'ight folks. I had some time to fester and I am now to give the thread some closure

I did some serious soul searching and realized that where I stand with regards to the hobby is not very healthy. I decided to ditch this whole competitive obsession I had developed and instead go where my heart would point me. As it turned out, I had no issues selling off my Marines, but I could not sell my Imperial Guard. Same goes for AoS. In between Warhammer TW, my old Empire minis and me occassionally running through the store yelling KARL FRANZ at the top of my lungs, I simply couldn't stomach to let go of the minis. However, I did not need to think twice to kill off my Stormcast Externals

So there we go. thank you folks for your opinions and thank God for some much needed guidance. I will stay with my good ol' Empire folks and dedicate my hobby to painting, fluff and casual/narrative play as opposed to the toxic mess that I called my competitive side.

Cheers

Glad to hear you got that competitive weight off your back and your soul is at ease again.

Here's hoping the new Warhammer Legends GW is working on will be everything you wanted in keeping your imperial spirit high!

GW is making to order all the heroes and lords from the old world by faction starting with Dark Elves. I still need Thorgrim for my Dwarfs, Imrik if they remake him for my High Elves, and Kurt for the Empire. I'll probably grab the dread Lord with the dragon on his shoulder as well. I'm ecstatic I won't have to buy them on eBay now.

Short answer yes, they are a pretty decent army especially if you combo them with good tar pit units. The empire hand gunners are really good in large chunks and since you can shoot into melee it's really easy to get a squad of 30 of them to hit on 2s and wound on 2s

Not gonna lie, if they make an old school kiros I'm buying it, and if they ever made hellcannon again as well.

Is that permanent or temporary like it is with 40k?

Typical. They release old models after I convert a Dwarf Lord with Shieldbearers.

Sounded permanent as a side venture but we'll see.
