A Saim-Hann Autarch Skyrunner with Banshee Mask, Reaper Launcher and a Laser Lance (or even the relic lance) as the warlord with the sniper trait seems like a pretty good option.

As far as I can gather, that all works, right?

It works sure, but this demonstrates why the FAQ still didn't get it right. They never made a model like that, and I also have never come across such a load out until 8th. Meaning the index is being used as a loophole to get better gear rather then a crutch for old out of print models. I'd like everyoine to consider the spirit of the game while they rush off to kitbash an autarch tonight, because make no mistake, if your going out of your way to make an uber autarch from scratch BECAUSE of this FAQ then I have no tears to shed from you in a year or two when they finally do phase out permanently.

BTW I wasn't calling you out specifically Thud, I actually know a few dudes that I am SURE go out of their way to make such models, which they never owned and are doing it purely based on rules loopholes. I wouldn't have a problem with it if they had kept them in the codex, but this haphazard way of finding points is BS, a banshee mask is now free? Yea, ok... Thats kind of a strong piece of kit compared to the index and since they released it this way you can be sure there was no balance kept in mind when you consider certain load outs.

No, they never made a model for that loadout. However, it has been an option for the last three editions, and people have converted models in all those editions to represent the gear. The index options were never designed to represent any model GW ever produced, but every *option* they ever allowed. Case in point: Lasplas razorbacks, MotF with conversion beamer, any SM character on a bike.

Apart the Autarch, this flowchart method works fine. I think they could compensate for errating higher point cost for certain gear when chosen by the Autarch.

It's a shame FW removed the option for the Autarch to take a Prism Rifle as thats how I built mine and still can't use it.

Las/plas razorbacks and a Chaplain on a bike were previously produced - both during 2nd edition, off the top of my head, and the las/plas was the *original* Razorback loadout, before all these Johnny-come-lately options...

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

but no mention of a Ynnari one, I know theres most likely not enough to fill one but a whole Clown Codex is quite a stretch too

We might finally see mimes and a high avatar get models especially now harlequins are allowed HQ choices I could see troupe masters becoming like lieutenants and having a couple per HQ choice kind of deal.
