It's a sad thing that we won't be able to use the "Lion and the Wolf" stratagem on them

I imagine Russ will be to busy foaming at the mouth over the charred remnants of Fenris to be worrying about his reinforcements being a foot taller, especially since they have been sanctioned by the Emperor.

The only two first founding chapters that stick closely to Guillimans codex is the Ultramarines and Imperial Fists. Obviously Guilliman and Russ didnt get into too much of a row over it.

Heck, Russ would probably be happy it is one of his brothers working with him rather than some numpty, jumped up mortals trying to tell him what to do.

Primarch's are like buses. You wait for 10,000 years and then 2 come along at once.

I think the return of each Primarch should be treated as something a bit special, not rushing out 2 together.

I could see them getting released together if they were in some kind of adversarial situation, ala Loken and Abaddon. However the bad blood between them seems to have been worked out before the battle of Caliban, and neither seem like a good candidate to fall.

Constantly being negative doesn't make you seem erudite, it just makes you look like a curmudgeon.

Lost in the warp while searching for a new codex

Fluffwise The Lion is as ready to return as anyone can get so from that perspective he would be the logical choice. However, seeing how Space Wolves are yet to receive their codex my bet is on Russ. The Lion MIGHT be brought out before Christmas 2018 since I'm guessing he will get a FW model around that time as well.

I cannot believe in a God who wants to be praised all the time.

I think the next LOGICAL one will be the Lion.

The one I think would be most interesting as an opposite to Guilliman would be Khan. Since it's possible he is still alive in the webway after 10000 years...

The next loyalist primarch model will be an alternate pose guilliman, clearly.

The next loyalist primarch to release will be the Khan to be the opposite of Mortarion, who tried to bring the Khan over to team Horus, and the fact the Khan was one of the few loyalist Primarchs that got on well with Magnus.

(But tis probably wolf russ mc wolf)

Renegade is just what the imperial propaganda machine will call him. Just like the last 2 times the SW were called traitors while fighting on the side of good.

I think that Mortarion is the counter to gullyboy, at least tactically. RG makes imperial soup castle armies. Every list he is in, he is sitting in a recliner surrounded by as many guns as can possibly fit.
On the other hand...
Mortarion is a big stinky boy, and thrives at tearing down castle armies.

Magnus has all his psychic shenanigans, and I think Russ will have a null zone of sorts.

sounds more like wishful thinking then a rumor. Russ would have very little reason to object to what Gulliman is doing, or the Primaris.

Think Fulgrim will be next along with his Emperor's Children... It'll parallel Slaanesh in AOS.

My bad for forgetting the theme of the thread... I think the next loyalist will be Russ. Russ will be full out wolf in a very cartoony fashion. In the end Girlyman, the Lion, Russ and Sanguinus will square off against Morty, Magnus, Angron and Fulgrim. Sanguinus will come back from the dead in full out vampire mode. I hope GW doesn't bring back Sanguinus and think that Vulkan is a much better candidate but GW will go where the money is...

I would like to see Russ comes back as a daemon primarch or retconned to actually carry the curse of the Wulfen. I want to see Russ warring with two bestial consciousnesses as well as his failings as a primarch.

Edit.

Damn, Girlyman already killed most of the top dogs in the Inquisition so Russ can't take up Grimnar's favourite sport.

Yeah, I'm hoping for Johnson. 30K Dark Angel players got the shaft last weekend, so I'm really hoping GW will throw a bone at them in 40K.

They've got all the makings for it in the DA codex. He's fully healed, just waiting for the right time to return. Luther is free, and gathering up the Fallen, heavily implying he's going to to be assaulting the Unforgiven with a legion sized force.

The makings of a summer time campaign, much like the Death Guard assault from last year.

It will be Russ in a big release together with Orks and a new Ghazkgull model. Also, the Lion will return as Leman Russes butler, having found his second calling in managing the household and serving chilled portwine.

Sanguinius.

The Ynarri will team up with the Blood Angels for reasons. The Sanguinor will show up and dead Eldar trickery will change him into a reborn Sanguinius.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Warzone Fenris and Wrath of Magnus have two very different stories on what happened to Fenris.
Because in the end of the Warzone Fenris magazine the Dark Angels destroyed Fenris, the Thousand Sons, Tzeench Daemons, Space Wolves and a few Grey Knights but during Wrath of Magnus they claimed to have just shot up a few planets in the Fenris system.

I'd wager either Wolf or Lion. In that order.

Corax would be doable too, but not yet. Not, yet.

Rogal Dorn, Jaghatai Khan and Vulkan will follow once the return of Primarchs is common place. No idea what the order would be.

Ferrus Manus will also return. Probably as some sort of extreme cyborg, concerning about brain waves and such things.

And the return of Sanguinius is a given, as far as I know. Actual death is nothing to this particual primarch. And if you know anything about 40k-lore, this will be the first actual resurrection to ever happen. Guilliman never died in the first place.

Who do I want? Khan. Becuase I think he would be the most interesting becuase he is the most unpredictable.

However, the Lion makes the most sense as he isn't dead or lost.

You should read the Horus Heresy novels that focus on the White Scars. Khan would be the biggest COMPLIMENT to Guilliman. He's a general, who has no desire to be the leader, he is simply happy being the warhawk and being underestimated. He would be the biggest compliment to Guilliman because Guilliman could help run the Imperium as a statesman (while still being an active combatant), and Khan would be the second in command, leading the toughest wars. He speaks about these views at great length in "Scars" and "Path to Heaven". He has no interest in being Warmaster, he does not care that many people don't know much about him compared to the other primarchs. He cares about doing what's right and winning the fights assigned to him.

He also deeply hated Mortarian. In Path to Heaven
Spoiler:
he almost even beats him in combat on the planet of Prospero
, so would be cool for him to come out as the antithesis to Mortarian.

But it's GW. They are pushing all codex marines to be Ultramarines (just look at the changing of the transfer sheet in all the boxes), while the traiter primarchs to come out all have their own faction codex. Ergo, the next loyalist primarch will be either Lion, Russ, or Sanguinius. Since Sanuinius is dead, that leaves Lion or Russ. Since Space Wolves haven't gotten a codex yet, and they have been huge Mary Sue's for the past five or so years, my bet is on Russ.

9th Age (KoE, Warriors of the Dark Gods-Lust, Sylvan Elves), 40K (Dawn Bringers SM, Night Lords Legion, Tau), AOS (Bretonnia, Ironjawz, fyreslayers) Malifaux (Ressers, McCabe).

If you can just clone then, well meh..

I think that’s a good way of looking at it. In ADB’s Talon Of Horus, Fabulous Bill’s clone of Horus does not seem nearly as dangerous or resilient as the original, and conspicuously doesn’t explode in green fire the way Ferrus Manus and Alpharius are both depicted as doing when killed.

Spoilers from the new Space wolves novel Ashes of Prospero
Spoiler:
‘But what else?’ demanded Logan, stepping closer, his insistence rolling from him like waves of heat. ‘The Eye has opened. What of the Wolf King?’
Njal did not answer at first, dismayed by what he saw as desperation in the stare of his feal-lord. The Great Wolf’s brow furrowed at his silence, extracting meaning from the wordless response.
‘No sign?’
‘None, my lord. There are stirrings, tempests through which even I cannot gaze. Even so, I saw a sleeper entombed in rock, and a white storm that rode upon a chariot of lightning. A shadow rises to the call of the Allfather’s messengers, a darkness that strikes from within. The benighted ones turn their supernal gazes upon our worlds – the Eater of Worlds, the Corpse-King and the Misbegotten Child move once more. The Cyclopean Fiend, we have already seen. Even the Golden One has broken his gaze from the Empyrean again. I felt its glare like a fire in my soul.

The space wolves do recover the non-wulfen 13th company and their equipment so the wolves codex might have rules for 30k stuff in it but no sign of Russ as of this novel, and it hints at other primarchs returning first loyal and traitor

I doubt there will be anything in the codex for 30k units for the Wolves – however, I might expect them to now have access to a list of some of the FW units in found in the FW Index.

I think it would be interesting to see Khan and the Lion come back – maybe it is time for Khan to step into the spotlight and no longer be the 1 Primarch everyone seems to forget about when listing them

OK, so that hints fairly strongly at the Lion, Khan and Corax for the loyalist side which is pretty reasonable since they are all MIA rather than dead. Let's go out on a limb and assume Russ will return too, that makes 5 Primarchs on the loyalist side.

For the traitors that hints pretty strongly at Angron, Mortarion (who has now appeared), Fulgrim and lastly Lorgar. This would make 5 for Chaos with the Big 4 all represented and Lorgar acting as the undivided leader (kinda Horus Mk2).

Of course, trying to work out 2-3 years of GW model releases from one paragraph in a book might be regarded as stretching plausibility a bit.
