Either Cawl or an Onager with a neutron laser. Cawl because of his stats and the ability to regenerate extremely fast when paired with another tech priest. The Onager is just great fun to have around, one shotting tanks and crippling Magnus just by itself.

Currently it would have to be my flayed ones. I always get a kick when my opponent gives a sigh of relief when they find out they have 0 AP, only for that to get turned on its head when I ask them to take 20 to 40 armor saves.

To those that say there is no stupid questions I say, "Is this a stupid question?"

I love vanguard vets with dual pistols - they are what prompted me to start a space marine army.

My John Woo marines are childishly fun to model, hilariously impractical and oddly satisfying to use.

I run two units, one with jump-packs, the other without (I'm not insane - the footsloggers go around with my chapter master in a Storm Raven).

If I want to have fun I bring big units with a mix of dual bolt-pistols, dual grav and dual plasma. (If I want to actually have a chance of winning I take all plasma pistols and a couple of storm-shields.)

My best moment with them was going full gun-kata on a squad of Blood Angels Death Company, charging in and throwing a bunch of completely ineffective pistol-whips (slaps really), surprisingly surviving two rounds of combat with the raging space vampires (decked with thunder hammers) and shooting them right in the face.

Ahh, Equilibrium was a bad film - but also SO GOOD.

Wave Serpents because they're always at the best place at the best time, they're full of nasty treats for the opponent, and they always tend to explode in really convenient locations. Also, sniping characters with multiple serpent shields.

Its a lot of fun to run kharn and buddies in games where you forge a narrative. It's always fun to either completely die or swing and destroy everything including yourself.

I guess my Tallyman?

Trying to roll a 7 for every stratagem you use is kind of fun, especially because it feels a lot more random than it actually is.

Sadly, all the SAG got its fun part taken away this edition, the SAG of previous editions would have easily been my #1.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks do not think that purple makes them harder to see. They do think that camouflage does however, without knowing why.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Mortarion is always a blast to use. He has a lot of fun rules, and I think the model is absolutely awesome. I don't bring him as often as I want.

As for a more commonly run model, Bloat drones with fleshmowers. Their durability and damage output is very fun and extra satisfying. They blow up on a 4, and I can force them to explode. I like to think that they grind up their foes into mush and eat them. Kinda tied with them are Plague drones. With proper support from a character, they can do 5dmg per swing, are fast and durable. Without AP there is no real best use for them, so I can hurl them at whatever I want to tie it up and take it down. I would throw them at a warlord tititan. I love running a giant blob of them... but I hate transporting them.

There are many units I love and are always fun, in all my armies. But probably an Imperial Guard Infantry Squad with a Heavy Weapon. Something about one of those squads, dug in and braced to hold against any foe is always great fun for me.

Honourable Mentions:
-Valkyrie,
-LRBT,
-Sentinel,
-Dark Talon.

Well, my Shadowsword was my most fun unit. But at that time, it was pretty much crap.

Unfortunately, everyone hates it now, and I have to concede that point, because it's rather OP. Complaints make my game less fun.

Now it might be Basilisks or Manticores or Medusae or something. I like artillery.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!

For my custodes army it is my squad of allarus terminators, they look sweet and wreak a lot of havoc. Eisenhorn is also great, I've so far only used him once, but him and Cherubael did very well.

For my Tau army my favourite unit, or closer to set-up, is breachers in a devilfish with darkstrider, with the new codex they got some nice buffs and they feel just as nice as they did last edition, Still remeber the time ten breachers, supported by some markerlights and a cadre fireblade killed 28 guardsmen in one round of shooting, or dropped a dreadknight at full health. (both during 7th ed)

My armies:

Erik Morkai's great company 6k
dark mechanicus, the dearth of hope, 8k
rothwyr morwan's company 1,5k

Is it cheating to kinda put up a detachment from my army? Because I would have to say my Spearhead from my IG consisting of my favorite units in 40k (3x Rapier Laser Destroyers), Two Leman Russes, a Tank Commander, my Trojan, and my Atlas..... OK, fine. It's my Laser Destroyers. They look too damn cool and while they aren't the best, I always have a blast with them

Such a fun time when everyone else is bringing tanks, gunlines, squads of power-armoured big dudes and all that sci-fi jazz and here I am with my anime character zipping around the battlefield punching people's faces in with his magic glove before popping them with his wrist tube of death.

Such a high-risk, high-reward model and never boring to play.

I've been having a lot of fun with my Seekers of Slaanesh. Rolling big on advance and shooting 21" up the board is awesome. That's not even including their charge.

My Heralds have also been fun mainly because I enjoy reading the descriptions for their psychic powers. Breaking the enemies bones by forcing them to dance is always fun to describe.

On my Space Wolf side... nothing is more fun then Arjac. Throwing his hammer and teleporting it back is always the life of the party.

Nids: Genestealers. Iconic, one of my favourite units since I started playing the game (along with the Screamer-Killer fex) and they're finally at the level rules-wise where they match their fluff.

Sisters: Dominion squad in a flamer Immolator. It was great fun back in previous edition when you could poop flamer templates everywhere, it's still kind of fun rolling 6d6 autohits.

AdMech: Skitarii with TransAquas. Popping minor charactors heads off it great fun.

IG: Full plasma Leman Russ. YOLO.

Grey Knights: 10 man strike squads. I just really love GoI-ing them into rapid fire range and rolling loads of dice. It's usually not worth it but I LOVE ROLLING DICE

Daemons: Not played them yet in 8th since I'm transplanting my Fantasy 8th army and I need to get some stuff for them first.

Necrons: Tomb Stalker/Sentinel. Big robot centipedes are cool and the Stalker is the most adorable model in the game. If it was Oldcrons I would have said C'tan because the cosmic horror aspect of them is what made me like them, but that's not been relevant for a long time. Now I made myself sad.

in 7th edition, I had eldar Corsairs... well I still do but FW decided that they don't need to be an army.

I was making a custom unit of Voidstorms. These were badass space elf pirates who had been through it all. They were your elite unit that could be kitted out. An option for them was to take a pistol that on 6's to hit gave the firing model +1 str and lowered the ap by 1. It already had a base str of 5 and ap4. Pretty good pistol. Well they could take 2. Now, voidstorms were 15 ppm and it was another 5 ppm to give them jetpacks, which they needed to deepstrike to use their pistols.

Corsairs also had restricted hq choices, one of which was a Baron who needed to be attached to a squad and couldn't leave. I gave him a shadowfield and stuck him in front. Also gave him 2 pistols. I threw in the Corsair spellcaster in the squad... dual pistols as well. So here was 14 shots that was almost 320 points on t3 models and a 4+ save. Their only saving grace was that corsairs could move if their target was less than 12", which for jetpacks was 6+d6 movement... then came the charge phase, and since they likely deepstriked, they could move another 2d6.

It was a bad unit that was super overpriced and never made their points back, especially because they couldn't use their guns with gaining strength on vehicles. But it was fun to jump down and get a bunch of str 7-9 shots that were ap1 and jump away from retaliation.

Nearly 3k+ points of Slaanesh (AoS)
2500 points of Ironjawz
Too many points of Space Marines.
