D&D Gnolls are hyenas as people have said but the first written description of one from about a hundred years is:
is described as looking "like a Jerusalem artichoke" and, although he has feet, has tentacles rather than arms and no ears. His eyes are small, red and faceted like a gemstone.
Things you learn from Wikipedia.
I do love the thought of a Gnoll cop, it's a fun reversal from the norm in many ways (normally cowardly, bandits and violent) so I hope it can get updated.

Hey it's magical pseudoprohibition right? Plenty of room for cowardly, violent coppers on the take

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal |

he's wearing a hat, but also has a WWI style helmet on his backpack.. we could drop the hat, or have him wearing the helmet instead maybe? Now that I think about it maybe having a hat and a helmet is too much?

Duh, I just missed that. Maybe he was an ettin previously, and lost his second head in the war. He still keeps the other headgear to honor it's memory!

Here is the are for the first board tile. They will be 10 inch tiles, but 9x9 squares so the bases can fit good without overlapping. What do you think?

Looks good,
although I might try and make the colour difference between outside and inside wider (you've got a lot of grey), but that could be a deliberate choice to set up atmosphere (if so maybe darken the walls to make them more obvious)

yeah we can still do some tweaks, i see what you mean
wondering if we need to have door templates or standees like some other games? or is it obvious enough? trying to keep components to a minimum so I can keep the overall price down
Currently with 9 unique minis, 6 board tiles, 2 token sheets and a deck of loot cards, dice and rules it's looking like $75 retail. For KS price we're thinking $65 normal and $55 early bird. Just a pledge for the game to make it easy, no add-ons, and then stretch goals will add new minis to the core game so the higher we can get the better the value will be

I think they are obvious enough, but I also thing that "walls and doors" expansion cardstock sheets to be sold independently might be an interesting thing to see (OTOH, I do that nowadays 3d printing walls and doors ^^)

I don't see a need for doors, unless they have a mechanical effect (eg if you can open/close them) then standees/toekns are needed
you could offer physical doors but that will cost a bunch of money and a lot of folk will have some already by now (since I don't imagine you'll be selling to first time gamers but most likelty to those who have boardgames/minis already)

Here's an update for the gnoll and ogre. We made the snout and ears more rounded like a hyena, but I still wanted him to be fuzzy. For the ogre we made his hat more like a drill sergeant, and then that meant we also had to give him 3 stripes too, and we gave him a little ammo drum on the back of the gun

This is going to sound really nit-picky, but the ogre is holding the wrong end of his gun. He's carrying the weapon the same way that all people carry long objects that are overly heavy at one end, except the heavy end is supposed to be over the shoulder.
You've got the machine end and magazine down by his hand and the lighter barrels over the shoulder. If he tried carrying it like this the gun would simply fall to the floor.

It reminds me of the Shadows of Beimstone boxes, which is good, but it might be too busy for a book cover. Also, that gnoll policeman looks more like a bear stripper.

I never did get into Shadows of brimstone.. always meant to try it out.
This is a box cover though not a book cover May also change depending on funding, but needs to have something nice and colorful for the Kickstarter. Now that you mention it, I can't unsee the bear cop, i'll see if we can make him more gnollish looking.

I like the colors and the dynamic angle. The magic skull is intriguing. Some of the fantasy elements add I terest, but the bear, Orc and gobbo together look a bit samey, but definitely conveys a strong turn of last century fantasy feel.
As for sugar bear, I'd suggest the gnoll gets a thicker neck more proportionate to the shoulders, with perhaps more of a hunched fighter's physique rather than a straight backed sculpted physique, and a hat with some dignity.

And here is our next new sculpt, the Vermyn Robber. His special power will allow him enter a manhole and pop out of another one anywhere on the board, so he'll be able to get around quicker than anyone.
He's going to be the last sculpt we do prior to the Kickstarter. We wanted to have 10 different races represented. We hope to add a lot more to the game with stretch goals.. there won't be add ons, so any new mini we unlock will get added in to the core game and final retail version.
Planning to do a slight update to this sculpt though, and change the rock under his foot to something you would find in a city, like a spare tire or pile or bricks or something like that.

Maybe he just rolled it up and stuffed it in his pants? Actually the tail was kind of an issue because it would have made the sculpt more complex, we're trying to get them to have them be 1 or 2 part models so they will be easier to produce in plastic. We might still try and add it in later if we can figure out a good way to make it still work and cast well in all 1 piece.

Please don't change it just because of me. I was only trying to find a compromise on the tail issue and give you more feedback, but I'm not really your target market for this game.
If I bought this mini, and I am tempted, it would be as a "Secret of Nimh goes Broadway" mini for my cosplayer warband.

Nah, it's worth trying to see if we can get it to work. My original idea for him was to have his tail holding a magical item that he just pilfered from someone else. Was also a little tempted to give him a Fivel hat.
