I think if I was playing WH40K Monopoly I'd be constantly thinking I wish I was playing proper WH40K

Me too, although the reason I want it is because my oldest son is pretty "meh" when it comes to actually playing 40K. He likes the lore, but because the game doesn't involve a game controller and you have to rely on your brain as the "console" he gets disinterested within the first turn of just about every game we play.

Monopoly, otoh, he likes playing. And my wife can play it too.
My youngest son is on his way towards getting into 40K, but this Monopoly set may be a good "gateway" for my oldest.
They both also have their own Primarus Marines painted with their initials on the shoulders, so they have their own Monopoly pieces ready to go

I'm glad this set has paper money, because those digital ones suck. It's too easy to make an accounting mistake. Especially when your kids want to be the banker

I have a number of friends who would be so very upset with receiving those as presents that I want it to happen.

So I wasn't the only one (besides Yodrin, obviously) thinking that?

That's a nifty little thing. I'd still want to play as the Ripper though.

I like the cute little Minilith.

Not sure what to make of a 40k theme for Monopoly, though.

Are you being facetious? I can't tell.
Because it's quite clearly a Primaris helmet.

Yodrin didn't comment on it, did he?

So what's going to be the new racing car equivilent? The choppa is going to be the wheelbarrow for sure. The ripper has to be the dog.

No, but, c'mon, you know what'd say.

That is a very good name for it.

I do kinda want to see the 40K-themed cards. And... if the houses/hotels would work on a Planetary Empires map.

Yeah, this is a hard pass for me. I have a complete and utter hate of Monopoly as well as the Game of Life.

I think I wait for Settlers of Calth, myself.

You must not know the history of monopoly. It was literally designed to make you hate capitalism

I have zero interest in the game, but I'm mildly tempted to figure out a way to grab the little monolith... it's so tiny, I love it.

I’m surprised it took so long. Monopoly pairs with anything they can.

When my town got one I knew they were scraping for things to make. (I can’t believe there is only 1000 odd versions)

Anything that's Blank-opoly isn't made by Hasbro, FYI, and isn't technically Monopoly.

One could say the same about 40K and GW, so it’s probably appropriate.

Monopoly was written by someone trying to illustrate the evil nature of Monopolies.

Hasbro, or whatever company it was at the time that made it commercially available, added the hotel's to make the games longer.

The longer game length, and the fact that most people don't play it RAW, or even strategically, often lead to exceptionally long frustrating games.

2 Hot Monopoly tips.[u]

1.) Unowned Properties that are not bought by the person landing on them immediately go up for auction. Highest bidder wins. money goes to the bank.

2.) Fill all your properties with houses, NEVER buy Hotels. When the houses run out, no one else can buy houses. If you are aggressive in buying property and building houses on them you will bankrupt your opponents in a much shorter time.

He just doesn't like the game because it uses metal models.
