For someone that denies divinity He sure used a lot of odd phrases:

“Turn from my light”

“Break faith with me”

He also didnt create psykers in Humanity so there was no need to ban them from the Legions at that point. If no one had started dabbling in scorcery then things would have continued as is but obviously faced with potential disaster a ban was the only logical conclusion.

Whether He is or isn’t lots of psykers merged into one has never really been officially in universe stated. I think it will always remain a mystery unless they resurrected Him for GW sales purposes. (I would demand some splendid BL novels if that were to happen)

That he is a psykers has been officially stated however.

I think you have your answer. The reason why psykers get so much hatred in the Imperium is simply because they are dangerous. Even sanctioned psykers are dangerous in that, while trained and verifyably loyal to the Imperium, they have what amounts to basically a door to the warp in their minds. Untrained psykers ("witches") are even worse as they have absolutely no control and are often hostile to the Imperium's interests.

What we seem to disagree on is the extent to which the average Imperial citizen "abhors the witch". Many seem to agree with me that most of the "burn you at the stake" stuff is reserved for untrained and unsanctioned psykers, and that loyal sanctioned psykers are regarded simply with fear and distrust instead of outright hatred, with the possible exception of the more extreme branches of the ecclesiarchy.

The emperor being a psyker is irrelevant. Most Imperial citizens view him as a god... and even we as readers know that he is much more than a normal human, and thus is beyond the wariness and vigilance that most psykers need to be treated with in order to keep people around them safe.

That isn't what I was saying, I wasn't arguing why psykers get so much hatred, I already knew and how they get so much hatred had nothing to do with my original point, you started arguing that they aren't hated. The Emperor being a psyker is relevant to my 'actual' point, he isn't a god though which is the 'original' point I made. so I'd like the Inquisition and the Imperium to find out that he 'is' a psyker. You started arguing that psykers aren't hated.

That is not what I was arguing, and if you read my posts you would understand what I was saying.

The reason why the emperor is not distrusted and feared as a normal sanctioned psyker would be is that almost all Imperial citizens see him as a god, not as a psyker. Even as a reader who has outside knowledge, I personally think he is closer to the former than the latter. The reason for fearing psykers (they are dangerous) is simply not applicable to the emperor because he is at 0 risk of being possessed or having a daemon burst from his skull.

That was pretty much what you were saying, the Emperor is not considered a psyker 'at all' he is considered a god. Again the reasoning for fearing psykers is irrelevant, the Emperor is not considered a psyker to the Imperium.

Centurion, what is the actual point of this thread? You've made an opinion/statement as your opening post, and whenever someone tries to actually start a discussion around your post (Psykers are hated because X, Y, Z, the Emperor is a psyker beyond mortal ken ect.) you immediately shut it down and say it's irrelevant to your "point" (when, in reality, you've made no points in a discussion, just an absolute statement from which you refuse to budge from) ("the fact that the Emperor is a psyker is irrelevant to my point").

What you've made is more akin to a blogpost stating your opinion than it is a thread for discussion

Gothic has two variants - high and low. High gothic is presented as sort-of-Latin and gothic is everyday English. Out of universe, the high gothic is religious and archaic in flavour (to us) by design so as to add to the general feel of the setting. In universe, that's just how people speak in an official way.

Most of the Imperium hatred for psyker stems from myths and stories of the hardships and chaos that followed the breakdown of society after the men of iron rebelled.

At the same time, the Eldar managed to birth Slannesh which created the eye of terror and any world which hadn't simply killed off their psykers (as some tolerant worlds had) were now gateways for demons to invade. Humanity was nearly wiped out, due to the Eldar hedonism causing the psychic shock wave to catalyse this.

Also, but probably the one most citizens don't know is the myriad of psychic plagues that infested humanity until Big E managed to eradicate them completely due to his mastery of the psychic. We're talking complete planet wide (and system wide!) death. One that sticks in my mind is "the screamer plague" that causes the infected to start screaming and kill anyone that isn't effected in warp energy until they burn out, but hearing a screamer will infect you. Yeah. Nasty one that.

So yeah, psykers are untrusted due to previous, but not all psykers were like that. But, "a few bad apples spoil the bunch" applies so unfortunately all psykers are hated due to imperial teaching.
