My favourite is Eisenhorn model. The pose is impossible, probably seconds before falling down on his face.

You got the High Five action pose Solitaire. Maybe hes gonna give a little skin to Huron there?

Spoiler:

Someone HAS to model these two together slapping hands!

What, walking?

I've been working customer service related jobs for about 10 years now...and yes, for some people walking is impossible. Not because of physical impairment, but because if they walk they'd have to stop breathing because they can't focus on two things at once.

Don't forget that he's wearing lifts to be as tall as the other kids at Wolf School.

Those aren't lifts. Those are the retractable claws built in to his armour boots that grant him an extra kick attack in melee.

Sadly, that particular bit of wargear disappeared when the 2nd edition Codex Space Wolves came out.

He's one of the - if not the - oldest models in the 40k range at the moment, so he deserves to be cut a little slack.

Fair enough, but can we at least be extra harsh on the newer line that still managed to faceplant

Khorne Berzerkers have some of the stupidest poses:

Like, seriously, the dudebro in the middle looks like he just tripped and is reaching his chainsword arm out to catch himself. The one just above and to the right of him looks like he's also tripping, but because he wasn't watching where he was going. And the one on the left side middle is dancing or doing the moonwalk or something. And the skullfaced guy in the top left; well, I'm not sure what he's up to.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

It is interesting to me the lack of running models in the 40K range. Or marching, etc...basically there are so many poses you could actually use in gaming miniatures and you get...none of them.

He's from second edition ?

I have the sneaking suspicion he might be from very late in 1st edition, but at worst he is from the first Codex released for Second Edition (Codex: Space Wolves - no, I don't know why they got released before a generic/Ultramarines Codex either).

He's definitely in the 1992 Citadel Catalogue, and that pre-dates 2nd edition by a year. His closest competitor for "oldest model in production" was one of the Eldar Warlocks (from 1991), but it looks like he's been retired.

Hmm - that means that Ragnar's model is ~26 years old, and is definitely older than many gamers today...

I suspect the Space Wolves codex was released 1st for 2nd edition for a couple of reasons:
The Space Wolves were the most distinct from a Codex chapter - Ultramarines, Dark Angels and Blood Angels could just use the standard army list, while there'd be a fair number of Space Wolves players with unuseable units - five-man Devastator squads, Tactical squads with close combat weapons and Veteran squads with a mix of Terminator and power armour, for example.

The Space Wolves army list was published for 1st edition 40k only a year before 2nd edition came out; it was almost certainly written with 2nd edition in mind (the layout of the list in White Dwarf certainly looks more 2nd edition) anyway.

The battle report (Space Wolves led by Ragnar fighting Orks led by Ghazgkull) in the 2nd edition Codex was actually a 1st edition battle report.

Are you daring to speak badly of Lord Wulfen McWolf, wielder of the Lightning Jazz Hands of Fenris?

It at least suggest the weight of everything he's wearing if it's a slow trudge anywhere. I'd rather have mega armor that looks slow and ponderous than have him skipping through the dunes of Armageddon in it.

I suppose, but its ghaz attacking should be like being hit by a train. he should be dynamic, like in motion power claw reaching out rushing at his opponent to me. though i suppose it could be worse (see njal stormcaller in power armor)

Considering he's all metal I'll say at least his arms don't pop off like Abbadon's because the weight doesn't strain the connection as much.

When he's in plastic we'll likely get something better, but for now he's not too bad.

I spent the better part of the last half hour trying to find a RT model I've always had a chuckle at: it's a marine whose supposed to look like he's reloading but due to his pose it looks like he's listening to the magazine instead.
