Anyone who thinks that any release tied to space marines - any at all - will be anything but primaris, or primaris related - you're flatly wrong.

There will never be another non-primaris space marines kit released, ever.

I doubt anyone is buying these pods, also. I haven't seen a drop pod in like 2 years.

Sometimes, I wondered if my opponent was totally cross-eyed. Once, I had someone claim that my template was moving in a direction almost 30 degrees different from my estimate. I sometimes had 2 yardsticks to better visualize the direction of movement. Of course, I also roll as close to the target as possible.

Most of the time I just took whatever they said I hit, because seriously, I've got 15 more of these to resolve, and that one model doesn't usually make enough of a difference to me. But if it's patently ridiculous, or I can see them rotating the ruler, I won't be taken advantage of.

There was also the issue of 25mm bases, 2" coherency, and the 5" diameter template, which I cannot believe was an argument that came up, much less multiple times.


I'm kind of glad templates are gone. While I'm sure a more elegant and better defined way of setting up blasts could be managed, and the roll-for-shots system kind of sucks, it is at least non-negotiable.

I'm not entirely certain why my existing Marine models would be unusable. I would like to see drop pods be decent again, just nto sure how to run them. I hope its one of the models GW lets primaris eventually take, just dorp in to get troops on an objective or hellblasters in etc.

I mostly play orks btu when i would bring my marines and drop in my pods they would get attention from people not knowing anything about the game because of how cool the model looks. When you explain thematically it is launched from a space ship and there are the thrusters on the bottom to cushion the landing people would think it was super cool, sometimes enough to buy a starter set.

I do kind of miss the look on my opponent's face when I would pull out the Apocalypse pie plate and saying "Okay. Time for the shooting phase!"

Do you think he sent an angry letter every time a model got reboxed with an 8th edition datasheet in the instructions or has he just been living under a rock?

I too would like to see this.

Apropos of very little, I heard a story from the local GW manager over the weekend that someone had called up asking about drop pod discontinuation, and became highly irate when the manager said he had no idea what the caller was talking about, and that it was showing in stock on the U.S. web-store, so the manager really couldn't help him.

And for you lovely people's information, I did follow up with GW and you know what, it was rather pleasant and informative. Hence why I posted about the SKU.

And yeah I came here spitting brimstone, because I've spent a ton of money on SMs and the idea that GW would toss that line pisses me off. Did I spit venom at the GW CS Rep? Well let's consider this. I just bought a box of Tacs and a paint set online. GW messed up my order and guess what? They resent the whole order so now I've got double what I ordered. Do you really think my next move would be to sent them a letter that would require an apology afterwards? Hardly.
