- 10% of Dark Angel codexes are secretly printed as an alternative version where everything is exactly the same except all the units have the CHAOS faction keyword. This causes exactly 12 minutes of confusion on forums before everyone realises what's going on, yet somehow still ends up being the third-most-asked question from new players.

- A new chapter will be introduced as the newest face of the franchise. A successor of the Raven Guard, the Light Angels are instantly recognisable in their off-white armour, carefully painted to look like it's glowing from the inside. GW releases "Light Angel Cream" as a new Contrast paint, which purports to give the same effect and actually does.

- To the joy of tens of thousands of Eldar players across the world, GW announce that they are releasing six Aspect Warrior kits in plastic. Their joy is shortlived when the names of the kits are released: the Masked Harlequins, the Spikey Corsairs, the Half-Dressed Wyches, the Floating Surfers, the Bio-Grotesques, and the Slightly Meaner Swooping Hawks With Bat Wings And Things.

Packs of 7, yes. This one hurts so much...
I wonder if they think they are being clever and have no idea how "rage" inducing that is?
Units of 5 or 10 and sell a 3-pack.
I remember a few times refusing to buy a kit because of that intentionally non-divisible quantity.

3 pack, that you can get even numbers if you buy more?

Squats are re-released, as a glorious update.

Somehow, every other question at Seminars remains ‘when are Squats coming back’.

This causes Jes Goodwin, Wayne England, John Blanche, Rick Priestly and Mat(t) Ward to all turn into Chaos Spawn.

The 9th Edition FAQ stating that we will still be able to use non primaris marines will turn out to be partially true. GW will kill off all firstborns and characters who do not cross the rubicon between Psychic Awakening and 9th Edition. We will receive a 'Codex: Firstborn' at the start of the edition that will state that all non primaris marines are now legend.

I remember when they cut the size of Epic plastic sets in half (cutting prices by only 25%). So now you could buy a box set with only half the models you need to make a unit

Almost as much fun as when they cut the IG and Dire Avenger boxes in half with no price cut

How much are 3D printers again?

Oh sorry, back on topic...

104 - GW will fully embrace 3d printing with a new, exclusive STL file of their price list allowing you to print out and admire the list of price adjustments in glorious 3d.

105 - In honor of the 11th anniversary of the 5th edition Marine codex all Marine Squads will now have 11 members. The number of marines in a box will either stay the same or be cut to 5 depending on the unit.

Classic Marines will definitely be phased out this time.

Any fluff written moving the timeline forward again will be well written, compelling and well received.

They'll be no more hero models in the classic one foot stood on a rock pose.

There will be no complaints about Marine releases from xeno faction players.

Formations are coming back. Eventually Chaos players will get one or two formations that are usable, but they'll require models that aren't even sold any more (Ah, 7th edition)

Horus Heresy will not be progressing toward 8th edition, and will instead be moving backward to a 6th edition ruleset.

Keeping with the trend of diminishing Astra Militarum Regiment options, GW has decided that all guardsmen will be discontinued and instead you are encouraged to kitbash and convert to create guardsmen- but only with official GW parts, don't get silly.

Renegades and Heretics will be reviewed by GW staff. And by that, we mean, 'Some guy will find the book and take it to his desk, then leave it in there under a moldy sandwich for 3 years'.

I hope you guys haven't forgotten about Squats! Neither has GW, but they're not going to do anything about it.

yes, and no one yet said that templates are coming back (they will but not in a way any of us expected)

but I was also told that unit bases are mentatory now, with 25mm must use bases for 5 models, 32/40 mm 3 per base (also all vehicles will need bases now)

Can't stand bases in general, would have to see them added to vehicles too.

Just replace them with clear plastic for heck's sake.

This rumor isn't even made up. You just got the details wrong. They ARE making new plastic Aspect Warriors. The kit will cost $55 and contain the following:

1 Striking Scorpion
1 Howling Banshee
1 Dire Avenger
2 Fire Dragons
0 Warp Spiders

There will not be enough weapons to outfit everyone in the kit fully. If you don't like those options, the other Aspect Warrior kits will still be made available. Twice a year. As made to order specials. If you pre-order, you will also get an original metal Avatar of Khaine.

Other things 9th will have:

1. Terrain rules that matter. To Narrative players. Mysterious objectives will return, and, while I can't get into specifics, as a preview, most of the terrain rules will involve some form of slowing down movement.

2. The concept of inverse proportions (this is what they ACTUALLY meant by "games balanced at any size). In a nutshell:

The bigger the game, the smaller the table, and vice-versa. 2000pt games will now be played on a 3x4' table at max so that the game will go faster and you can really feel the press of bodies in the mass combat (as a side note, close combat will, inexplicably, be even harder to pull off. Sorry Space WOlves.). While smaller games like, say, 500pts., will be played on a full 6'x6' table so you can really feel the loneliness of that combat patrol through no-man's land, and experience the nail biting drama of wondering if you'll encounter an enemy squad or not.

The rules for Kill Team will be revised when GW realizes no one has a table big enough to play it on under this rule set.

3. The writers will finally cop to really just wanting to make a Napoleanic Wars game, but admit that they had to make a sci-fi setting so the game would sell. They will CLAIM to have finally fixed this incongruity with 9th, but, much to the dismay of the players, they will have fixed it in the wrong direction. All while claiming it's the game system we've all been waiting for.

4. CSM will get a awesome codex. One of the best in ages. My fellow CSM players will still hate it, screaming simultaneously that the CSM book sucks, and that, to fix DG and Tsons, they should be rolled back into the CSM book. Which, again, in their eyes, will suck.
5. Despite the CSM codex being truly amazing, there will STILL be no reason to take actual marines in a CSM list ...

Models now come with digital license keys that need to be scanned before a model can be used in tournament play. Models without digital license keys will need to purchase keys at retail cost.

Previous codexes are still valid - for legends play

Ork players can get a +1 charge distance bonus if they shout 'waagh' before making a roll

Tau and Necrons are now a single faction that can share each other models in formations

Primaris marines mercenaries! Can be deployed in any Xenos or Chaos faction list. Requires the purchase of the DLC faction key for that faction.
