so is WFB like an established game like AofSigmar or is he talking about more like a house rules type of game?

It's the game that Age of Sigmar is built from, a game that was around for over 30 years and 8 editions before AOS

is WFB the "official name?" I went to the GW site but I dont see anything with that name.
Or is Age of Sigmar the latest name in the "WFB franchise"?
What I mean is, Does WFB change every few editions and is Age Of Sigmar is just the latest face for WFB?

I just watched a few YT videos and I am up to date with the outrage lol
I saw the armies and the Stormcast eternals look the best to me. If I were to get into AoS, I would probably get those

Been in this hobby for a few editions and have started and sold many armies. I’m down to one and that’s where I’m gonna stay. The struggle is real I want another army but don’t play enough to justify having two and don’t like having to buy multiple codexs and supplement books ever couple years when they change the rules to sell more books/models.
So yes I am staying at one army. Though it’s hard my wallet thanks me.

GW is making bank for sure. I cant believe how much I spent on my 6,000pt UM army in one week, which is ok since I am only going to have time and desire to play that one army.
I am playing 2 handed games with the same army until this non sense ends. I also got a 5,000pt StormEternals army for which I am doing the same thing, 2 handed solo games for now.
One army for each game and that is all I want.
I can see how you can easily spend a house down payment on this hobby lol

Been thinking I probably would like to start another army as a side piece maybe sometime soon. Simply because I could then have games of KT or 40k with friends who will never collect/paint but would still like the experience or introduce new people to the hobby.
Would like the army to be opposite Eldar..

Oh, given time you can spend more.
It adds up quick right at first. But then, over years, it slowly grows - until one day you tally it up & go "*$!!".

I've owned and played so many armies it's a blur at this point. I think I've painted and sold 16 since 3rd. Now I take much longer to commit to painting and probably won't sell anything I like ever again.
My advice is pick one commit and learn it. Even if you own more. Then you can branch out. Owning more than one army means GWs bs power shifts don't leave you without an option to have fun. But that said you wanna play what you like or you won't enjoy it anyway.. Regardless of power. I've learned that so many times. Some armies I've meticulously built and modified, play 3 games and sold the lot because I didnt enjoy it.

I'm fairly happy that I started DG at the beginning of 8th. Having them in addition to my orks means I have two armies on completely opposite sides of the spectrum, so whenever one army is getting less fun to play, the other starts being more fun.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks do not think that purple makes them harder to see. They do think that camouflage does however, without knowing why.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

I started playing* 40K in March after a 20 year break and was fully committed to a Death Guard army and only a Death Guard army. Since then, I now also have a small Necron army and a 2000 point Blood Angels army - I am weak!
*Well, painting and waiting for gaming to happen again rather than playing.

yeah that's what I have decided to not sell my necron indomitus half. I will keep it as the side, closet army in case someone wants to play. I do like their models a lot and if I were to have a second army it would be necrons.
btw the new released necron models today look great Automatically Appended Next Post: ccs wrote:gundam wrote:

hahaha yeah... the one thing that will keep me from spending more is that the least favorite part of the hobby is assembling. It takes me a min since I am meticulous about smoothing EVERY sprue. I just finished 5,500 points of space marines so you can imagine how long that took. The more annoying things are the troops, so many more pieces to clean. I just have 3 boxes left of SM.
I will drill the barrels and start the painting process. Automatically Appended Next Post: dominuschao wrote:I've owned and played so many armies it's a blur at this point. good advise. I really like the ultramarines color and lore so I think I will be safe from power shifts lol
I really dislike assembling and the only reason I got through it was that I REALLY like the SM models. I have about 1,400pt of necrons from the indomitus set and a few extra destroyers. I am only going to build them so I have a "spare" army so I could introduce someone into the hobby. welcome back! I got into this like a month ago, watched a TON of YT battle reports, lore videos, reviews and I ended loving the space marines. I went too hard and ordered 7,000pts and once it got delivered I was like "holy gak... that is a LOT of sprues to clean up" lol
I have gone through 5,000 so I am on the final stretch. Drilling barrels, then I can finally start painting after that.
