I ain't saying its a perfect idea or that it wouldn't neatly need balancing against what's out there to be cost efficient but not crazy, I merely offer it as a different thought line of suggestion.
Perhaps it could be worded specifically to null and void any pluses to wound that affect the roll, as well as to block the effect of any natural six for purposes of wounding, extra wounding, or mortal wounding.
So taht basically you are paying cp through the nose --- but your enemy doesn't get to pull some wacky BS on your armor that round, period.
Course, you will run out of cp before he does, and then he will, but its still better than saying "wow, my castellan died awful fast that time too" every first round of every damn game.
