I wasnt sure about Papa Nurgle's face until you got paint on it, and then it starts to look like an Ian Miller picture!

Awesome.

Thanks, guys, I really do appreciate the kind words and you popping into the Blog.

My message for today (thanks to Footsore Miniatures)

What I have been up to.

Got all the Necrons from Indomitus built and primed black. Just brushed on the primer as my airbrush is in my shed, my shed is very cold, so brush is grand! Have decided to do them similar to what Darren Latham did with his... if I can!

Got the rest of my Chaos Warhounds built. Probably need to go in with a bit of plastic putty or greenstuff just to tidy the joins up and make them less noticeable.

Immortal/Warlord Greek Hoplites, that came with this months Wargames Illustrated Magazine. Will base these on some rounds and they can be used for Clash of Spears or SPQR if we ever get to game again

Finally, a bit more of the Nurgle Tower. This is the fuel tank, that sits behind the tower part. It has a ladder and I plan on having a plague bearer dropping stuff into it.

Plans are to get a bit of painting done this week. Necrons, Bloodletters and perhaps a few other things I have primed and handy.

Didn't do much hobby this week. But have completed my first Chaos Android, or are they called Necrons now

Inspired by Darren Latham's take on Indomintus Necron content...

Needs a tuft or something on the base and a varnish to bring a consistent finish to the model, but otherwise I am fairly happy given the time and effort needed to get to this stage (which isn't very much).

Now to get working on this lot!

Did get a few more models built and I've a couple more Bloodletters painted, but will show them when I get all the ones I have been working on finished.

Thanks for looking!

A demon from Heresy Miniatures. Did this quickly yesterday afternoon, so very happy how it turned out given how quickly I got her painted.

Could have spent a lot longer blending the skin and wings, some of it isn't great, but wanting to get things finished, so happy with the compromise!

Cheers, KernelTerror! Appreciate it.

Couple of Bloodletters... These are ebay rescues. I should have spent more time clean mould lines and tidying, but oh well. Bit of an experiment... tired to use Flesh Tearers Contrast paint over a black undercoat that I dry brushed up to grey... but it is a very strong and pigmenty contrast paint and the effect wasn't what I hope. So a dry brush with Ryza Rust and then a few details is all they got. They will suffice, especially given the amount of Bloodletters I still have to paint, and the fact I am still searching for bargains on eBay

Again, I'm not a fan of demons all looking the same, the warp is a weird and wonderful place, so I am also going for a disjointed, chaotic look.

Bit more work in progress on the Necrons.

Really want to get this SkullThrone Khorne thing finished as well...

Cheers, my friend. Basically I copied what Darren Latham's did with his Necrons. He has posts on Instagram, including a video, on how he did it. His video is very good, and his Necrons look great. https://www.instagram.com/darrenlatham/

But basically...

Base coat of Incubi Darkness
Then just random stippling of black and green.
Stipple on a watered down black (more in the shadowy bits).
Stipple on Kabalite Green
Stipple on Sybarite Green
Stipple on Gauss Blaster Green - this is a very light step for me.
Then edge highlight in Kabalite Green and Sybrite green.

My glowly bits are nearly the same but the first coat is Kabalite green and a little white mixed with Gauss Blaster green for the final highlight.

Hope that helps... Got the Spider Floaty thing basically finished and the other Cyptothrall. Just finishing touches and giving them a good varnish is all that is needed.

I really shouldn't, but I'm definitely considering using that stippling technique but in purple for the next Necrons I paint...

I think you should, I would guess that it would look fantastic.

More work on SkullThrone thing

Photos are a bit warts and all, but it looks pretty decent from the right distance

Daemon ghostrider looks great. I too find the pictures far too much of a put-off when everything is blow up to 10,000% the size!

And Flesh Tearer Red is an interesting contrast. I find it mostly useful over orange or thinned down significantly as it is so pigment heavy.

Thanks for sharing

Cheers for dropping in, and thanks for the tip on the Flesh Tearer Red. Will have to try it over orange, never thought of that!

Chaos Warhound... trying something a bit different for them. Quick paintjob and I have forgot to paint the claws... well they are done now, I didn't realise until I looked at the photos.

My Demons of Khorne Bloodthrone (I did go onto the GW website to get the correct name).

So glad this is finished. It is now going on the shelf, probably never to be moved apart from dusting!

Three bases of Scarabs finished.

And mostly been painting this today.

Few wee mistakes to fix but nearly done. First Stormcast I have painted despite subscribing to Mortal Realms and owning two Age of Sigmar starter sets. Always said I wouldn't do golden Stormcasts but oh well, just followed the guide in the magazine and rather like it.

That fella makes so much more sense with his head on! I was really wondering what in the name of Sigmar that thing was for a moment there.
Excellently crisp and natural paint job too. Top work.

Cheers, theCrowe, he definitely doesn't suit a lack of head

First Necron Warrior finished.

If I can paint a few squads of these guys to this standard, I will have a decent looking army for the shelf... or perhaps even a gaming table.

Thank you,Boss Savage, appreciate the comments and you popping in.

Been feeling poorly for a few days, but have tried to do some hobby to keep my mind of feeling like crap. Just terrain but it looks grand.

Have some not-Squats from Macrocasm ready for priming, some more Bloodletters I want to build, plus the doors from Kill Team Rogue Trader undercoated black. I'll work on these between watching rugby and feeling sorry for myself.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Started building some Bloodletters.

Primed my Squats...

Did some doors - Black,Burnt Umber and Necron Compound...not sure I can be bothered doing anymore.

Started some Chainrasps

Nearly finished them as well - just rust, basing and a wee tidy up.

Working on more Necrons

Chainrasps finished.

Cheers, Not Online!!! the rust effect is just Vallejo Dark Rust Wash. It looks decent over any silver and my go to for any rust.

Bit more work on the Squat Commissar this afternoon. Might try and finish it this evening...

WIP of the Squat Commissar - have him finished now, but he is covered in gloss varnish. Once he is matted down and based, I'll show him off. Such a nice mini.

Thought I had 4 more Necrons finished...but just noticed I have missed the gold on the chest on 3 of them.

So will be fixing these guys before I get on with painting more of them!

Cheers, Boss! Working from home and the weather being crap has given me plenty of time recently.... Plus I got minis primed at lunch and actually finished the basing of more Necrons I painted last night, this morning at about 7am (see pic below). Every little helps!

Finished the Squat. Love the mini. Have a Command Squad to paint now and have backed another Kickstarter for more Space Dwarfs that finishes at the end of the month. There are some great minis coming out of Macrocosm at the moment. The guy who sculpts them has a plog on this site as well if you haven't checked him out - https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/731849.page
