bought off eBay, its a 'Eldritch Dreadwolf' ... dunno what game its from... but if you google that name it'll come up... its got a load of heads on tentacles coming out of its mouth.... (need to find a conversion where I can use that part of him ;-) )

Posted in the Monthly painting challange, but hadnt posted him here..... See below ;-)

Cheers Bud, like I've said before, years past painting was frustrating as everyone aiming for Eavy Metal standard, I got no where near... now with Balnchitsu etc, there seems lots more space for different types of painting... and a not so neat approach works better for my fat fingers ;-)

anyway...

OK so once couple bits of arrived from foreign climes able to get my McFarlane Marine finished... pretty happy how he turned out, and nice to stretch out on something bigger.
Choice of Helmeted or Bare Heads, custom Power Claw and Glaive, African themed heraldry, lion teeth on belt decorations and the Lore Friendly Black Templar cloak.

Cheers

Absolutely amazing work on him! Something to be very proud of. I would love to see a full 40k chapter of guys like him tbh, it's a great design for a chapter!

Woah! He looks great, the Blanchitsu style certainly works well on the large figures. Out of interest, is he still poseable or did you fix the joints?

cheers.... someone will be crazy enough to do a whole squad/company of these large marine eventually no doubt...

most of the joints still move... the wrist on the power claw is fixed... and just because where the cloak falls that does limit the arms movement... but the cloak is removable... think on a lot of these larger models people would usually use actual fabric for cloaks, maybe should try and upgrade him that way... (get my mum to embroider the templar design? :-) )

anyway..... onto another little aside.... think this is my first time painting Craftworld Eldar despite off and on being involved in the hobby for nearly 3 decades (granted good chunk of that was 'off') ... And it's not even an official model ;-)... But just got my first 3 Artel W models (won't be the last), and they all super nice.... Really nice sculpts, no issues with the supplied pieces and nicely packages tied with string and a wax seal. A++

This guys is described as a Flaming Drake Prime... But look at some official artwork and it's definitely Fuegan the burning Lance...

Let me know what you think... You guys tried any of the Artel minis yourself?

Hehe, Having an embroidered cape would be pretty cool! Not fuegan looks really cool, even his plinth looks neat. The daemon he’s about to decapitate is a nice detail. I haven’t branched out beyond GW but have been tempted by the likes of Artel, they have a few cool things

Just a quick update to keep the blog up to speed....

Post my Squig rider here as well, already posted it in the Painting Comp under theme of 'Travelling in Style' I'm pretty pleased with it, got some useful tips from the guys over there about how to improve my goes at OSL, its still pretty new to me, but there deffo some bits that work better than others.

Second Model, again playing with OSL, nice Artel W Model harking back to the old Spyrer Orrus model. Lovely kit.

Anyway let me know what you think.

biuriful vignettes man, lovely tone and colour work going on here.

The notFuegan mini is brilliantly executed, you achieved some great depth on his armour and the flesh of the dude he's just knocked off.

On a side note and despite how awesome your marine army is, it's really nice to see things being made and painted for their own sake/experimentation rather than to create a 2000 pt army of whatever.

Keep it up mane and thanks for sharing!

That squig rider is fantastic! The OSL really gives the mini diorama a sense of atmosphere like he’s riding through a dark cave with nothing but the glowing ‘shrooms to guide him.

The off-base OSL on the second one is really cool. The only bit that surprises me is how clean and flat the floor is despite being a ruined. Looks fantastic though

Just updating the Blog with the last couple 40k models done...[More images behind the spoiler]

Mechanicus model from ArtelW... last of the 3 I bought, and another really nice Kit...

Spoiler:

And a larger scale model... started off as a viking kit bought from Wish... was better quality sculpt and print than expected... but had to chop it up anyway.... made some sort of chaos cultist from him.

Spoiler:

Anyway let me know what you think.....

Well, that post is all win! The explosion looks like a warp grenade or something ethereal at least, and it sure would make a cool night light! I love the flaming collar on the macfarlane marine too, really nicely done!
