@Brutus_Apex: They look awesome painted in the dark scheme. Most I've seen out in the wild go for brighter colors. Very nice Asrai. That rune is a nice touch.

Well its only taken me since 2004 to finish painting all these orcs...but they are done! technically I bought them for an Orc and Goblin army in 6th. I repurposed them as Orc slaves for a Chaos Dwarf army in 7th, finally I finished them up for 8th! Which is no longer in production!

Go me for getting a project done in time!

Nice Horde! Now you can just split them in 2 separate units, too, if you're not playing 8th but any other edition. Or, for example, make one unit 25 strong, and the other one just 15, but upgrade these to Big Unz, for flanking.

Honestly? I kinda had that plan myself as well but I wanted to grab another 10 Boys with another command group so I can run one Regular and one Big'un unit for 6th edition. I was just holding off buying until I finished these guys. The problem came when the Ebay lot I was eyeing got snatched up by someone before I could buy them! So I'm waiting for another lot with a half-way reasonable price before I add more.

Besides I have a bunch of Arrer boys I need to paint as well as something like 120 goblins....so I'll be busy for awhile.

Don't feel bad, I'm still trying to score about 18-20 of the old plastic Talisman Minotaurs so I can finish my dream army. Not sure why they are priced like they're made of silver, but it's definitely a patience game at this point.

Unfortunately over the past two years the prices for all things from HeroQuest, Warhammer Quest, and Talisman have skyrocketed on the aftermarket. It was first due to the nostalgia factor and has been compounded by the fact that resellers know most people are home these days.

Reaper makes a minotaur in their bones line that is similar in style to the old WH QUEST model and can usually be picked up for a couple bucks.

Pulled my High Elves out of the closet, haven't worked on them in a couple years but The Old World discussions have me back on the WHFB kick. Spent the week converting and painting the new Lumineth guys from Underworlds Direchasm to look like proper High Elves, should finish them tonight or tomorrow.

Didn't get much done tonight, still very WIP and obviously need basing. The Lumineth mage is just going to be the mage from Isle of Blood in the same blue-white scheme

I had a talk with a HE Player, it was About some really large number of HE models on sale, for just a steal. The guy was selling them just as a whole package, but I would only need very few of the minis offered.

He said he didn't need them either unless someone forced a 10000 Points match to the death on him.

So, I was starting to work on a list to see how much in painted greenskins I could field… I came to slightly less than 9000 Points, without Special characters, but with 3 Lord choices, 12 hero choices… So my target is to find and paint the missing 1000 Points soon.

I'm currently working on a few kitbashs/conversions of my vampire characters, one for each bloodline:

The Blood Dragon is a conversion of the new Primaris Mephiston, who is a perfect base model.

The Necrarch is a kitbash o the gaunt summoner body + necromancer/mortis engine parts.

The Lahmia will use Yvraine as a base and coven throne handmaiden bits for the torso and face.

The Strigoi will just be the Abhorrant Archregent, which is pretty much perfect in my book.

The Von Carstein is sill in concept phase, which means I have no idea how to do him. I want to try and capture the classic aristocrat vampire and not the mutant abomination that is the current iteration of Manfred. Suggestions would be highly appreciated.

In December I finished 40 Gor, 10 Ungor, 5 Chaos Hounds (giant rams), 2 Razorgor, and 3 characters for my Beastmen. I also managed to squeak in 10 Slayers and a couple Empire Heros. For January I am working on more Beastmen currently another 40 Gor then maybe some monsters or Bestigor.

@BertBert maybe the Rogue Trader from Blackstone Fortress as a base?

@Baldrick the sheer number of painted minis you have is super impressive. Great inspiration to keep making progress!

Starting on Project: Warbands, as I go back and dig in My TARDIS closet.

I have the old Necromancer and Morgan Bernhardt in metals and consecutive edition figures to build into regimental square warbands, as well as My ongoing Caverns of Chaos and Crypt of the Sorcerer redux.

I have the old games as a guide and am evolving the same style of figures out of Otherworlds and 5th Edition D and D guys...

Old World Skirmish games, and then send some regimental teams into the old Paint and Play dungeon built up out of that new Wizkids Sweet plastic Crack.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Just finished a group of 4 Bretonnian bowmen (5th ed. monopose) to round out my earlier group of 6. With them- plus my Oathmark proxies painted as Men-at-Arms, I feel like my glorious Bretonnian army is taking form.

I have a box of Albion Knights from Fireforge that are on the docket for 2022 most likely...got a big move coming up this year and I'm trying to refrain from assembling any new mini's and focusing only on what I have already primed--which is a lot.

Got a good chunk of High Elves in the queue. hoping to knock some out while I can.

I'm dreading the number of Island of Blood Swordmasters I'm needing to track down for my 6th Ed. Eltharion White Tower army. Prices for THAT kit have gone flat out stupid as well. If my niece was interested in a Storm of Chaos Seaguard army it'd be a little more worthwhile to simply get the entire half of the set. I think I have enough Skaven. I think...

That’s a sweet warband you’re putting together Eldarain. They look fantastic on their square bases. I’ve just managed to rank up some Blood Warriors and Reavers on 25mm squares. It’ll be a while until they see paint though

Thank you gobert. How difficult was that? I'd like to include some more modern stuff but the scale creep is tricky sometimes.

Next up is another Maw and 6 metal GW Minotaurs.

Ugg I have so many half built units I wonder if I'll ever get them all done...

They weren’t too bad, they still need a bit of work when I base them to make sure they’re not resting their axes on each other. There they are ranked up together

Maybe you guys can help on colour scheme? I’m tempted to paint them up like my BattleMasters Chaos Warriors;

Will that work or look daft? They would of course have plenty of blood splatter

Commodus, those snotlings are spectacular! So much character in such small figures, and really well painted to boot!

I think that would look just fine. I think the Bloodbound book has some of those Blood Warriors painted up in a similar metallic scheme, probably with some tribe name like Iron Reavers or something.

Thanks guys, I still have two of the old Snotling pump wagons as well but I'm not sure what to do with them. Now for 6th editon - 7th they were on a 40mm base. Howevere in 8th they are considered a "Chariot" so they should be on a chariot base.

I've held off putting them together to paint as I'm not sure how to actually base them yet...also I still have a bunch of stuff half-finished as is that I should get done.
