Thanks for all the comments. I'm like the drukhari, except with validation instead of pain.

I certainly feel like my skills have improved with all these builds. Or at least, the process now feels easier and more comfortable. Which is good because I have left the biggest for last.

Behold, my killtank. And I believe I am beginning to reach a significant fractions of 'enough dakka'. The baneblade may be a little big for a killtank, but I don't think my opponents will complain much about having a bigger target. I loved the idea of a turret from a naval gun slapped onto a tank chassis and it felt like a great aesthetic for the Bad Moons. Someone on facebook said I should name it Da Broddside.

But let me tell you, don't build round turrets! Boiling and bending all this plasticard into the same curve has been a nightmare. I had to glue and clamp each piece and then leaving it for 12 hours, so work has slowed to a snail's pace. But it's looking pretty cool so far and I've moved onto thinner plastics so things should move faster.

Looks like another very promissing build.

That does seem to be approaching the order of magnitude of enough dakka! . The rounding of the turret looks as though it was worth the pain. I also love how the front of the chassis resembles a squigoth, neat touch

Looks sick!

I was looking to do something similar, how well do the battlewagon and baneblade kits mesh together?

Just read your blog from start to finish- terrific stuff! Your builds are very innovative and look like a lot of fun to play when they're finished. Love the new multi-gun turret- nothing says "Ork" like moar dakka!

I look forward to more WIP pics.

Very well actually. In terms of width, the battlewagon cabin fits nicely between the track sections. The depth is a bit of an issue though. You will either need to build a frame inside for the battlewagon to sit on or cut off the front glacis so it can sit on the floor... actually, I might try that idea instead.

Thank you, I appreciate the encouragement. I just need to finish painting up a stormsurge for this months painting challenge and I'll get right back to work.

Alright, back on track with the killtank. I have put on a decent volume of plating on the turret and made a nice place for the commander. I'll need to put some grots on later, something that tells a story. Next will be the actual chassis.

I know your said it might be approaching enough dakka, but it looks like there’s a bit of real estate for MOAR dakka, maybe a pintle mounted shoota? Seriously though, it looks great already

I will admit there is a gap or two. I've filled one of the gaps with peeking grot, but I might have space for one more gun in the mouth. My limiting factor now is that I am running out of guns! I might have a razorback's twin bolter somewhere...

I also need to add a twin big shoota and a skorcha. I have an idea for the skorcha, but I think you have helped figure out where toput the big shootas. I think I can fit it on a mount in front of the commander. Thanks for the idea!

Realy love the multiple guns sticking out a single tank turret, I'll have to try a similar conversion next time I build a battlewagon.

Oh and I really love the double deff rolla on the previous page. Reminds me of one of my favorite traps in Orks Must Die!

I'm going to have to put the killtank on hold because I have finally found the old ork battlefortress. I've wanted this model for ages and I promised myself I would buy it if it ever turned up again. It's most likely a recast, but even those are rare! This isn't going to be the easiest build. There are many parts and the instructions are rather rudimentary. Not to mention the warping. But it is doable!

Alright, the main body is done. But GOOD GOD this model has problems. There was, straight up, not enough track pieces. Fortunately the side panels hide this, but there were a few tracks I had to cut down to size and move around. And the seller seems to have given me way too many track wheels. It doesn't help that the instructions I found online are not most thorough. So building has been a slow and painful process, but it’s nice to see it come together.

That’s a cool diversion. The warping seems pretty hardcore, but good work bodging the tracks and wheels, you can’t tell from the pics.

So the model is pretty completed as it comes. But there are a few places that don’t fit nicely and the overall model is looking a little sparse. So next I’ll ad some extra details. Glyphs, welding and some extra orks and grots running around. Let me know what I should add. I can put up to 5 big shootas if I want to.

Are they better know with the new dakka rules? I keep hearing people saying they're not worth the points.

Why I care about competitiveness when I'm using something from legends is beyond me...

I thought I would post on this thread again. I swear, I'm still building ork stuff! But you know how it is, other projects are always calling for attention.

Gearguts mekshop was having a sale, and I wanted to take advantage if it. So I bought and printed this big mek. I should have a stompa and morkanaut some time in the future.

Back to working on some Orkish vehicles again. This time just trying to finish up an ork killtank from FW. No fancy modifications, it's a fantastic model as it is. I thought I would show the painting technique I have for painting vehicles. A paint of the whole in a simple rust scheme. Brown with drybrushed orange. After that I will apply chipping medium and then airbrush yellow on top and then hit the whole with water and a toothbrush.

Killtank completed. It was my first time using chipping medium through an airbrush and it behaved very differently than the hairspray method. The spattering was much smaller and more uniform and my chipping was a little to small and consistent for my taste. A more uneven application will be needed next time. But at least that will give more control. The bane of my pursuit for randomness.

This is why Orkz are the best army. The ingenuity of Ork players and possibility of conversions make it the best army in 40k. Well done.
