Don't suppose any Dakka-ites to the east of the UK would care to comment on the price (or availability) of the Liber Xenologis book, would they?

EDIT - Scratch that, just realised I could open the GW site in another browser and look at the land of Oz. Xenologis was showing at $90AUS, or the same price as Sigvald, which puts it potentially in the £30-35 bracket (as I doubt GW will put a book up at the £34.50 Sigvald is listed as on the UK site).

It seems...cheap. Those books are usually £40-45 I think. Penitent LE is the same too and I would have guessed £40 or even £50 for that.

No it seems about right. Liber Chaotica was around the same price point. BL is fairly expensive on novels, but normally pretty nice on lore/art books in terms of prices.

I’m pretty sure the Sabbat Wars one was £40 or £45.

Just placed my order, €55,- for Xenologis is a bit steep, but overall their hardbacks are nice.

edit.

Not the same price as Sigvald, something I had expected to be the case after taking a gander at the OZ GW site.

Pretty smooth here too yeah. Too smooth really, spent quite a bit! Got the limited Penitent, Liber Xenos, and the regular Pariah and Penitents.

I am overall happy that the site hasn't crashed, though I have been refreshing it since a quarter to eleven. But glad I got both Pariah and Penitent, Xenologis is icing on the cake.

There's a tile for it on the Black Library section, but it just hits a 404 error.

It's advertised on the front page now and goes through to this broken link - https://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Bloodquest-Volume-2-PB-2021

Hopefully means it is being added at the moment.

Bloodquest is print on demand, so if its late that shouldn't be a problem since its got a 2 week ordering window. I was actually thinking on ordering Bloodquest 1 next month to see if its any good and then if I really enjoy it get the print on demand for 2.

Had hoped the Liber Xenologis book was £30 like the Black Library Artbook was, but got at £40 anyway. I suppose it's not too bad really considering the typical price for something like a video game artbook is around £30. Also ordered the Pin Badges.

There is a massive art shift between book 1 and book 2 & 3 of Blood Quest, be warned.

The tone shift between 1 and 2 was quite jarring when collected in the same volume.

What do you reckon?

A budget increase for Warhammer Monthly back in the day?

That said, there was quite the art shift by Colin MacNeill over the course of his Insurrection series for 2000AD.

It was a change in artist IIRC, with Kev Walker taking over art duties.

Might be budget, but might just be that it was recognised as valued and the artist was given more time to work on that comic over other duties/work in the company.

Heck quite a few comics shift over time, though normally its as the artists skill improves and the style make subtle shifts. Gunnerkriege looks very different now to what it did in the first issues.

Bloodquest went from a more traditional B&W look to a digital production, probably due to the success of Daemonifugue.

May be wrong here of course, but that's how it felt to me.

Xenologis doesn’t seem to be sold out yet..?
Or still available for pre order..

I don’t know if I want it. I’d like to read it, but then it’ll just take up space..
Do they do digital editions of that sort of thing?
Or maybe I just sell it on after..

I don't think they do any lore/art books as digital releases. I do recall in the original community page that they were planning to bring the Liber to general stores, however I would wager its still going to be a book that's only stocked once and not continuous. So it might well be that once its gone its gone forever (or at least until a reprint which might take years to decades to never appearing). In general you shouldn't have trouble selling it on, lore/art books tend to retain their value esp once they are sold out and gone.

Yeah. I guess it might be best to get it in case I change my mind, then sell on if I decide to.
I’m sure down the line someone would really want it but not have gotten ahold, then they could have it at cost too as opposed to trawling eBay premiums..

£40 for Xenology 2? Nope.

My complete edition of Liber Chaotica was only £25 new; and my collectors of the original Xenology was £60.

Books in general are a lot more expensive than they were 10-15 years ago. 40 quid for a hardback art book isn’t really expensive compared to hardback art books in general.
