Cheers Olthannon, really appreciate you looking in

The Cargo 8 (Cargork?) Ridgehauler Battlelwagon is finished. I prefer it without the Deff Rolla. Pictured with the Warboss and full retinue. Can't quite squeeze all of them onto it, in-game, but I found I didn't want to do much extra bits or conversion, 'cos i'll be taking models on and off, and they add interest anyway. My first go at camo, incidentally, and somewhat accidentally as it happens, but I'm happy with it.

Also did another Trukk for da boyz, this one has a veteran crew.

Canny little updates these. The cargo 8 looks brilliant, really like the camo you chose. It reminds me of my old micromachines.

The classic banners are a nice touch.

The little grot in the last photo is great as well, what a good expression

Cheers mate! Honestly the cargo 8 is a great kit and hard for it not to look good. Micromachines... I remember putting them back in the box never to play with again at age 10 when I got my copy of Rogue Trader. Wish I still had them!

That's the Ork project done for now, just in time for the Leicester GT this weekend, the big event of the year for me which I have been working towards. Here's an army shot, for my last post of 2022:

I've got some stuff to paint for a mate, then hopefully i'll be starting a project in the new year.... maybe Chaos Knights.

Really great conversions! The cargo-8 with camo looks good.

Ah man, the mention of Micro Machines, they were certainly my "baby's first wargame" before I even knew what that was.

I had those two bases. Nostalgia tripping hard here!

Love the latest conversions, and the micro machines reference is most nostalgia-inducing

A Bad Mek is visiting the boss's camp and in exchange for teef, bits and access to some imperial weapons, is making a Gorkanaut in the Warboss's image. The paintbrush is temporary while I find a big enough axe.

Love the big stompa, the hat is terrific. I think it being such a mundane addition to a giant war engine that makes it so funny.

I'm afraid this was some years ago, I'm back home in the north east now! I worked in Leicester after but left the year before they won the League and I was gutted. Must have been a fantastic atmosphere.

Thanks, the big kit is so much fun i'm already planning my next one. I find with GW kits that there's a lot of bits I just leave off, like exhaust pipes, bullet clips, etc - anything that's too fiddly and will break off anyway. I did hesitate for a moment before cutting the arm to fit the new pose - it's a lotta dolla, but then thought feck it, my model, i'll brutalise it. I'm a bit baffled as to why all orks now have horned skull motifs everywhere - used to be just Deathskulls - so had to shave off the one on the front; makes it look beat up and scratched which is an added bonus.

Winning the league in 2016 was special and the whle city was buzzing.... i'll never forget it, but i'm a bit disallusioned with.. not so much city, but the premier league now. I declined to renew my season ticket after lockdown. Great memories though. Let me know if you're ever visiting and fancy a small fun game of something at the flgs or a pint or
both.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I have added the Axe - it's a paintbrush with a kids toy on top. I'll probably eembellish it a bit.

Being Blood Axes, I wanted some imperial weaponry, so replaced his normal shoota with 3 heavy bolters, to represent the dakka, and a heavy flamer, mainly beecause he is armed with one and it's supposed to be sticking out of his chest (which I think looks a bit silly, and I realise how that sounds coming from me) but also because I only had 3 heavy bolters.

He also has a couple if rocket launchers. The model comes with a guy firing a rack of rockets from this hatch. I've gone with this RT ork with rocket launcher, to tie in with the rest of the army.

Now I have to add 4 big shootas somewhere, maybe a few other bits, and it will be time for a black primer.

The Gorkanaut is built and ready for priming. I've lowered and enlarged the axe, added a banner pole, and glued the big shootas onto his knees because that's the only thing that made sense.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also I should add I left off a lot of fiddly bits that I didn't like, such as exhaust pipes, extra 'orky' horns and skulls, and bullet casings flying out of the guns (never been a fan of 'action' or 'effects' on my models).

Knee shootaz is an excellent idea to me, good Orky logic that is

Premier League can be dodgy but the Toon is flying high at present so I'm guzzling it down.

Always up for a pint and a game next time I'm down Leicester way!

Fair enough @Olthannon; Newcastle fans deserve their moment in the sun.

Here's the big lad with a lick of paint; i'm starting to believe he'll be ready for a game on Sunday. Gonna stick him in a tellyporta and deepstrike him in with the boss and his drinking buddies inside.

The Gorkanaut is finished. The glyphs on the belly read: Warboss Big Axe of the Blood Axes Big Boy Waaargh attacks and kills Goffs, Beakies and Stunties.
The banner just says Waaaaaaaargh! The head on a spike belonged to a Goff.

For his name in glyphs on the front you forgot to add "the 17th"

I'm making a morkanaut and the idea is that it fires squigs. I've started, as usual without a solid plan, but hopefully I can have him loading squigs in the top, they come out the back, load in the gun, and fire. Somehow.
