Generally speaking, AOS is the place to look for 40k. They started to make these extravagant flowing models with effects and then 40k started to follow suit. This will likely continue when they re-release some models Into better looking, but static poses. Then they’ll release 10 or 20 new space marine models that are boring as hell.
What I would like to see are little modelling extras - like they did with the pack of skulls. Muzzle fire and shield effects for example, random gothic and urban basing pieces etc.

if we're gonna predict the future via AOS I should note 3rd edition is apparently reducing the number of re-rolls out there so... positive sign for 10th for all those who dislike re-rolls

did a quick glance and didn't see any mentions of Eldar Exodites, with the new 'Exodite' animation series, I think this would be a good time to add a Eldar subfaction into the 40k universe model wise. Yes, there are a lot of kit bashes of exodites with lizardmen/seraphon and eldar, but none official models.

There is a surprising lack of dinosaurs in 40k. Well, there's kroot but GW appears to have forgotten about them.

It's also punishing you for taking more than minimum sized units, so that's not really a great sign of anything.
