For tournaments, I would say to run it past the TO ahead of time, just to be on the safe side.

This is, emphatically, why I will continue suggesting nuking Guard and starting over again. It's a legacy army that needs to be rebooted with a new focal point.

Confirmation of why no-one should listen to Kanluwen when it comes to the IG - he doesn't want the IG, he want's Kan's New Model Army...

What, you don't like Abaddon being used a Roboute Guilliman? They're both space marine special characters. Get over it.

If you don't like the aesthetics and design of the army you picked, that sounds like a you problem.

What if I have been collecting sisters since 3rd edition, and my exorcists are based on the earliest known exorcists that were a fan made tank submitted to the SistersofBattle EGroup from 1998? (It wasnt even a yahoo group yet, as yahoo hadnt bought the site. As if anyone even uses yahoo groups anymore, or even knows what that is.)
It was a rhino chassis (remember this is 3rd ed so the rhino at this point was a rogue trader era travesty) that had six hunter killer missiles glued together and mounted similarly as you would find on a whirlwind, but not bi lateral.

To the OP, the exorcist was created for all intents and purposes by a fan to be the sisters version of a whirlwind. So in all reality, using a whirlwind is more canon than the pipe organ you see nowadays.

Extra bit of old man trivia, the nifty sisters of battle walkers you see now were also a fan submitted scratchbuild to Matthew Sprange's sister's website at that time (circa 2000) using Adeptus titanicus parts, and armed with multimeltas instead of close combat options.

Looks like the folks who are/were creative are the real winners here. Because youre all working on the backs of what they created. Even GW cant claim them as original since their identity has been around longer than many people who play 40K have even been alive.

What specifically about the Exorcist do you not like? Is it the organ itself?
I don't think you'd be getting game refusals over it unless you just used a Whirlwind and made no effort to tie it into the general SoB aesthetic of Church-Tank.

Yeah the organ and junk on top feels like so much overkill to me. And I would likely take the whirlwind turret and put it on a Sororitas Rhino, I think that would fit? If not then yeah I would deck a Space Marine whirlwind with sisters iconography.

overkill is, in fairness, the intent. sisters of battle I've often said are the most 40k 40k faction

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

I have more of an issue with someone who doesn't like the exorcist. I mean, let's be serious, it's absolutely glorious!!

You're right, it is glorious:

Honestly, I'd've gone with "dull as dishwater" instead of "glorious" there, but different strokes for different folks.

I'd rather use my glorious/dull as dishwater but functional FW turrets until the end of time vs even own the stupid-as- looking gimmick pipe organ version.

I think you're playing the wrong game if over the top aesthetics bother you.

You think wrong.
I just think the pipe organ exorcist (either version) is stupid looking as a missile launcher vehicle & prefer the utilitarian pods.
Like I said, I'd be fine with it as some sort of buffing unit.

While I always preferred the "over the top" Organ Tank to the more practical FW model (in fact the Exorcist is one of the main reasons I fell in love with Sisters back in 2008/2009), I would be fine accepting any conversions as long as they were explained prior to the game.

The only real issue in using a WW (which really isn't an issue) is that the Exorcist does not get to ignore LoS for free and instead has to pay 2CP. (Plus it now only fires krak missiles pretty much which was never the case! Those missiles were AP 1 for almost all of 40k, so they should at least be AP -3 again like in the 8th edition book and I would argue they should just be AP -4 like they were in the index and the beta codex).

Sorry for the salt, but in terms of rules they really gutted my baby. 30 points for 3d3 S8 AP -4 Damage d6 missiles makes sense to me, at AP -2 the anti-tank missiles should be no more than 10 points extra, especially when the anti-infantry missiles are free and the meh S9 battle cannon on the Castigator is only 5. I am fine with losing T8 and even the 12th wound, but leave the feared (though unreliable) Exorcist missile launcher alone!
