Oh that haha. He has died in several battle reports. Just like Mephisto, Guilliman, ghazkull, celestine, Typhus, Abaddon… pretty much every character actually. Battle reports are not considered canon. I think there’s been one or two battle reports that where canon but they are incredibly rare.
Theres a major battle report that's canon...
The one with the first two named characters in 40k... You might have heard of them... A commissar named Yarrick and an Ork boss named Ghazghkull. Automatically Appended Next Post: tneva82 wrote: aphyon wrote: Lord Damocles wrote:Yarrick already died on Cadia in one of the Apocalypse rulebooks (the first one?). That was just sort of ignored though because it's only canon when GW can be bothered to remember it.
Last we really saw of Yarrick he was going off with the Black Templars to pursue Ghazghull, so it wouldn't make a huge amount of sense for him to end up back on Armageddon.
He cannot die for the same reason ork tech works.....because they are all latent psykers and if they believe it strong enough it is so...and they believe Yarrick cannot be killed.....so no matter how often he "dies" he will be back like a perpetual.
That's lore bit players keep misunderstanding.
No it doesn't work that way. In canon ad mech priest speculation is only source for that level.
No empty box doesn't shoot bullets by belief. That misbelief has to die.
Empty boxes do fire bullets. Armageddon codex Ork Hunters.
Ork planes can make 90° turns because they want to.
There are multiple examples of how it works and it's described at length in the Ork codexes. Your opinion does not change these facts.

oooh? Please do tell. I’m unaware of the battle report you refer to. The only one I can really think of that’s canon is sanctuary 101 back in 2nd ed. I was just recently informed of it from a different thread.
@Dekskull thanks for the upload. I find it weak that gw keeps it vague. Just kill him and be done with it or make him bigger ‘n better. This middle ground nonsense is just dull. Sounds way to comic booky to have him be “dead if we don’t think he’ll make money”.

His pattern of returning alive after being declared dead occurred often enough during Cain's career that the Munitorum made a special ruling that Ciaphas Cain is to never be considered dead, despite evidence to the contrary. |

Well spotted!
Obviously if there was a war for Armageddon before then someone would remember it no?

Another big one that became canon is the one at the beginning of the Eye of Terror campaign - Eldrad Ulthran and a strike force from Ulthwe tried to assassinate Abaddon right before that but he teleported away before Eldrad (backed up by a bunch of Warlocks) force weapon'd him.

The other battle report from the Apocalypse rulebook - the Battle of Cold Steel Ridge - was subsequently referenced in both Space Marine and Tyranid codexes.
Captain Tycho getting maimed by a Weirdboy came from a battle report.
The studio' White Dwarf Inquisitor campaign/battle report series was referenced multiple times subsequently (and got a sequel 40K report).
Yarrick's capture by Ghaz on Golgotha came as a result of an Epic battle report in White Dwarf!
EDIT: Oh, remember that time Cypher retrieved the Hand of Darkness for Abaddon so that he could capture the Blackstone Fortresses? Battle report.

And was the impetus for the "Alas Poor Yarrick" summer roadshow in 1999. You had a massive group game where you had to stop the Orks getting off planet with Yarrick. I literally have the dog tag from it in a drawer next to me that you got for participating in the game.

Round 1st/2nd edition most battle reports added to the “canon”. Tychos injury, invasion of piscina 4, 1st and second war for Armageddon and loads of warhammer fantasy stuff. They all added to history, and some have been written up in novels and some became speacial character.
