If you have the chance go watch some of the ITC Frontline gaming tourneys, especially the final 4 or 8, it gets really competitive and sad, there are some players that will do some shenanigans to come out on top; ask yourself this: do you still want more $ for prizes to our hobby?
In my own experience: at a local tourney with only like $50-100 in term of 1st prize, one of my opponents tries to guilt trip me to play a 6th round with about 10 minutes left, if I did I would of lost the tourney; by the end of turn 5, I was winning in term of pts & obj; I decide to go against playing a 6th round as there isn't enough time to play both sides of the round, and the game was already played at a above normal pace, finishing or about to finish with less than 10 minutes left. My opponent insist that we go turn 6, we end up asking the TO, and he judge that there isn't enough time left to play both turns, and that we didn't slow play by any means. My opponent was still butt hurt, and I was like you would of done the same in my shoes. Now imagine this with much more prize $, that was the day that I slowly turned away from tourneys.
