Yes, and it's fantastic.

The bit that's still throwing me a little is that there seem to be a lot of different things going on, and each teaser seems to add a couple more. I have no idea how it all fits into a coherent movie, and I'm keen to find out... Which is something I never expected to say about a Superman movie.

Edit - although on consideration, with the 'stopping a war' bit added into the mix (which I'm guessing will be right at the start of the movie), I'm thinking it's looking a lot like the James Gunn edit of Batman vs Superman.

There's definitely a lot of moving parts but they seem to line up pretty well. The Justice League International, which seems to represent a sort of government sanctioned brand of heroism whose "good" likely only serves Lex's personal interests while Superman is more of the good of people helping one another that's being twisted into an alien threat as it interferes with Lex's plans.

I get the impression that the theme of the movie is going to be "perseverance".

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

That's what Brett Ratner did to John Ottman for Superman Returns.

Yes..... but, we definitely don't need another origin story or similar, so potentially if they aren't going to burn a lot of the run time on that, they've gven themselves enough room to bring it together.

The trailer gives me S.

It is looking good. I am thrown by an old as hell Guy Gardner. It makes me think the Hal is going to be a decrepit old man. Not that Hal is my preferred Lantern anyway (that's Kyle).

Guy is the right Lantern to be on the wrong side of this kind of equation. But he is also the wrong lantern to be on the side of authoritarianism. He was also the rogue agent, loose unit who let his emotions get the better of him.

I mean, gunna have to see the movie before any real judgements are made. But so far we have Guy in 2 properties (this and Peacemaker S2). Why is Gun so focused on the actual worst Lantern.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

Kyle Chandler has been cast as Hal Jordan in the upcoming Laterns tv series that is part of Gunn's DC media universe.

Guy rejects authority, but he's also just not introspective enough to realize when he's the baddie. As long as you don't try to forcibly do things, it's pretty easy to give him just enough information to get him to do what you want and as long as he gets to feel like the hero; he won't ask too many questions.

As for Peacemaker, Guy is 100% the right Lantern to bounce off Cena's take. Absolutely the right pairing there, IMO.

I also wouldn't describe Guy as the worst Green Lantern.

As a general rule - and not having read anything featuring the latest... two? - that's Hal Jordan, for me.

Hal Jordan being the worst Green Lantern is certainly a hot take, but I imagine Parallax agrees.

I forgot Nathan Fillion voiced Hal in several of the animated DC films so all we need to do now is get him to do Kyle in some form and he'll have a hat trick.

Hal when written by Geoff Johns is potentially my favorite comics character of all time. Unfortunately, very few writers seem to be able to make him work as well as Johns can.

Naw I can understand why someone would say Hal is the worst Lantern. He is the lantern that fell the farthest and did the most damage. But at least when Hal is doing the job he is decent to good at doing it. Guy... I mean? It's Guy. I like watching Batman punch him out.

Hunt down his and Alan Moore's Green Lantern short "Mogo doesn't socialize." It's in the back of a John Stewart issue - can't remember which one off the top of my head. It's one of the coolest GL stories that doesn't star any human Green Lanterns.

I think the trailer only looks cartoony in light that prior DC films had more edges than a Vampires: The Masquerade character sheet in the hands of a kid with 'resting school shooter face.'

Because the DCU films prior were trying too hard to lighten the mood why also trying to hard to be serious, a DC movie with a bit of an MCU feel too feels kind of awkward to look at.

It’s a toss up between Hal Jordan and Barry Allen for worst villain in the DC universe.

Uhhh... what about Codpiece? The DC villain whose picture I think violates some rules of the forum....

He has a sizable gun located.... uh... below the belt.

Also, Condiment King is pretty lame...

Those are worst as in, why are they there at all. Hal is worst as in, genocidal rampage that literally wiped out the green lanterns down to the last man. Hal managed to do what all the Lanterns many enemies never could. Not Sinestro, not the Manhunters, not even the Blackest Night. Hal was well and truly a monster at that point in time. He went through a long period of seeking redemption as the Specter

The latest trailer makes me think it'll be the same plot as Black Adam with a team of B Listers (or C) sent to take down Our Hero.

Which can be fun.

Also updating the title since we're long past the first glimpse.

He also briefly erased reality, which is not as big of an accomplishment in the DCU as it used to be.

I'm still sticking to my theory:

Spoiler:
The black suited guy that has the Ultraman symbol shoving Superman's head into the concrete and flying around hitting him on the costume is not Ultraman but in fact a Superman clone made by Lex. A bizzare Superman, if you will. Lex has done it multiple time in the comics and animated productions and I'm betting he is doing it again here. When Lex isn't trying to steal Hostess Fruit Cakes he is making clone Supermen. It is just what he does.

I agree with this.

I have also seen people state the theory they think the bulky armored person in the sky isn't Ultraman but Kara. That maybe Lex got to her first. She was mentioned by Gunn as one of his pillars of the new DCU so...

1. They really just need to make the Red Son movie already.

2. I can’t wait for the DC nostalgia bait movie that brings back Nuclear Man. “Wraaurrrrrrgh!”
