Apart from a few extra additions, the Forgefiend/Maulerfiend is just about done.

Instead of adding magnets to the shoulder pads, I decided to glue them to the Maulerfiends front arms,
and build some new ones for the Forgefiends weapons.

Here is the Forgefiend, with both weapon variants.

And the Maulerfiend variants.

Last but not least, we have all the magnetized components together.

i've been away too long. Great job on the magnets and the base is fantastic. I vote the guardsman be named Colonel Sanders , as he is obviously protecting the last KFC in the 40K universe. Wonder if the maulerfiend will think that he is finger licking good

That looks like a lot of work to magnetize the kit, but worth it since it is so expensive!

Nice work on that magnetisation. I magnetise pretty much everything and although it's a pain, it's totally worth it.

Good stuff on those shoulder pads

What were the shoulder pads originally? Could you have got away with smaller magnets do you think?

Thank you, and "the last KFC in the universe" that would be a sad day .
ZergSmasher wrote:That looks like a lot of work to magnetize the kit, but worth it since it is so expensive!

Actually compared to many other kits, it's not all that difficult to magnetize. I just over complicated it a little with that custom scenic base, and extra shoulder pads.

Thank you . Yeah it's always worth it, and although it can be fiddly work, I actually enjoy it. It's like solving a puzzle, that can require some out of the box thinking.

Many thanks. I actually won't be painting this, instead it's off to eBay, along with a small Chaos force. Which will hopefully fund my next conversion project.
OneManNoodles wrote:Good stuff on those shoulder pads

I was waiting for someone to ask the shoulder pad question . They where taken from the rear section of a Necron Destroyer, then reshaped.

As for the magnets, I could of used smaller diameter ones, but they would of needed to be thicker. These ones where only 1x6mm, and only just held up some of the bigger pieces, like the Maulerfiends front claw arm.
I do have some 1x3mm, but I keep those for the smaller models.

That's cool, I see it now .

I see what you mean by the the weight of the arms, they are quite big and chunky (I have no experience with that kit, never seen it in the flesh).

Best of luck selling it on ebay! don't accept any less than the RRP + a bit for the work you did on it.

Looking good. Very clean work indeed. The most tedious job is magnetizing I think. All of the stuff in your thread looks really well done, keep it up and keep the pics coming.

Since the Maulerfiend/Forgefiend is virtually done, I've gone back to the Daemon prince, and started a little extra conversion work.

I want to give it more of that ex Chaos space marine look, with more of the warped and fused armor showing through.

I've decided to split up my Chaos force into two separate groups. Chaos Space Marines will be one, and a Chaos Renegade militia group will be the other.

I already have 20 Cultists for the militia, and yesterday some reinforcements arrived...

There are so many parts in those two boxes, that I should be able to make at least seven individual models, maybe even eight.

I've already made a start converting one of them into a Chaos Spawn, and I have plenty of ideas for the rest.

That Daemon Prince kit never gets old. Love the pose for yours. Kind of reminds me of that scene from Helm's Deep in LOTR when the Uruk-Hai begin their siege on the Deeping Wall.

Yeah I've always liked that Daemon Prince, ever since the metal version came out years ago. Talking of Helms Deep, you've just given me an idea. As I just remembered the Uruk-Hai Berserker, running forward to blow up the wall.
So what if I make a Ogryn demolitions expert, carrying enough explosives to blow the leg of a Titan .

Thank you, and yeah I'm interested to see how they turn out as well, as I never quite know how these things are going to look until I get started.

Time for an Ogryn update.

First off we have the Chaos Spawn, which has received it's first layer of green stuff detailing.

While the green stuff was drying, I started on the beast master and his hounds.

Last off we have my Armored Brute Ogryn, but I just call him the tank. Who is a very early work in progress.

It's been a few months since my last post, but I'm back now and working to finish off my Tau Titan, as some time in January I will be auctioning it off on eBay, along with a few of my other conversions.
This will hopefully give me space to start some new big projects in the new year.

I've made a few changes to the Titan since you last saw it. To start with I rebuilt and re-positioned the arm joints, which are now a lot stronger and easier to pose.

I've also started building an optional weapon system for the Titan, which turns it into a long range Artillery platform, complete with leg stabilizers at the back.

Thanks for the comments guys, their most appreciated .

As for the Titan, I've finished the leg supports, and added some more details to the Artillery Weapon, along with a gunner seat at the back,
and a Targeting sensor array mounted at the front.

I still have a few more details to add, and sticking with the Tau philosophy that you can never have enough guns, I also want to mount a riptide Burst cannon somewhere on the model.
Not quite sure where yet, but if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

You monster... this titan looks amazing. I'd be hard-pressed to find a place where you could put another gun, but the burst cannon might fit on his right arm under the railgun contraption.
