I said I'd share the Corsairs I knocked together these were mainly an exercise in just seeing what bits and pieces I could throw together and to see what looked cool for future endeavours, but there's a couple of ideas I've been thinking based on them.
Basically, these guys are a little more 'low-rent' than the Khaine's Ravens. While the latter are a veritable shadow-empire, these 5 are just a band of vagabonds scratching a living as mercenaries and guns-for-hire.
Felarch:
Wrack/Avenger
War-witch (I'm thinking she's a Wych who showed latent psychic powers, and only just managed to escape Commorragh with her life)
The Lovers (One thought I had is that when Eldar pair together they develop a deeper and deeper psychic bond, one effect of which is that they begin unconsciously mirroring each other's actions)
The whole gang

Slobber gribble slurp...I mean thanks!
Oh, a couple of thoughts on this guy. While I do like the idea that of all the beings in the 40k universe it's only a twisted and diseased slenderman Herald that's advocating interspecies co-operation...he's still an Eldar. In this case 'co-operation' means treating humanity like pets rather than vermin

Thanks a million guys! Really glad you like them
I'm glad they've come across as desperate and grimdark (but not hammy grimdark). To add to that somewhat, the basis of these guys is a squad of (cloned) Guardians that decided to abscond. Guardians come in squads of 20. There are currently 5 (plus Maegwen). Life outside of a craftworld/webway realm is a tough place for Eldar that don't know what they're doing.
Still, there's life goes on, even for these folk, so there's little candle-lights in the darkness.
Sylvaneth army Gummi? Nice! They are drop-dead gorgeous models aren't they? Got any pics?

Ooh, that's a great idea for a another warband: some sort of massive slave trading vessel. Maybe akin to the Imperiums black ships: the Eldar run around finding psy active humans and sell them to the DE to use as experiments. Why not through together some slave traders?

Ooh nice idea I've been wanting to make some more DEldar warbands as I feel both them and the Craftworlders are a little under-represented.
I actually had the idea of slave-traders as one of my human factions. The idea for them is that they're the descendants of a crashed tithe-ship. Their original purpose has been warped over time into a sort of semi-religious slaving where they head out to collect their 'tithe' from the surrounding planets

"No," the figure explained patiently, "you misunderstand. I hold no formal title. There is no governance or rulership among us Outcasts. 'The Nomad Prince' is little more than an epithet. Still, I suppose I am as close to a figurehead for my people as we have, if only due to provenance."
I hear that his house were once exodites, fleeing the Old Empire.
I hear they became lost along the way. Not physically lost, but 'lost' as a state of mind. They have been wandering ever since.
The Nomad Prince? Vainglorious navel-gazer. Does little more than tempt away the young and naive with fabulous myths of exploration. There is nought but a lonely death awaiting the Eldar out among the stars. I half expect that come the Rhana Dandra he'd spend his time philosophising rather than pick up his spear to fight.
Have you never stopped to wonder about this place? Why this particular reach of the webway is filled with sand? It's not sand, cousin, it's glass. You stand amid the ruins of Karaehe, the great glittering city. Miles upon miles of transparent towers, wondrous to behold. Shattered and ground to dust by the fell energies of the Fall.
You can still find bones in the sand, if you look. Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh, and something I forgot to mention. Since the Croneworlder one winged Vampire-Lord guy I've been looking to Fantasy for characters to mirror in the 40k universe, with a suitable grimdark twist. A lot of named characters in Fantasy have been changed into generic up-spec characters in the jump to AoS. This guy is based on the Fantasy Araloth, who in AoS has been turned into a character called a 'Nomad Prince'.
I've used bits of his kit in my Nomad Prince, and tried to mirror the pose with more Eldar bits as well. He's also called 'Araloth of the hooked Blade', so I thought it would be fitting to replace his eagle with the hooked claw I had spare from the Tenebrael Shard kit (especially as it mimicked the pose).
Lastly, the background for Araloth is that he was a bit of a coward until he came across an elf maiden being assaulted by a Slaaneshi daemon. He slew the daemon, and the maiden revealed herself as Lileath, stating she had a plan for him. Since then, he's been the bravest and most untiring champion of the wood elves.
In the universe of 40k...Lileath is dead. The Nomad Prince never had his pivotal moment. A lifetime of wandering as an outcast has expunged his cowardice by necessity, but he never developed the untiring desire to fight for his people. He simply wanders his own path through the ashes of his civilisation, earning the disdain of the warlike Angvai (who are quoted above).

I was trying to think of some other characters to make 'dark mirrors' of. I don't know a great deal about it as I was always more into 40k.

May I recommend some of the AoS death characters, specifically the one that sees himself as a proud hero surrounded by noble knights, and having grand feasts, but is actually a twisted vampire surrounded by ghouls, and eating flesh and rotten meat?
Croneworlds would be good for that, I think.

Thanks I_F! Really glad you like them too many ideas is my problem! Tricky to whittle them down into stuff that will work and stuff that just doesn't...
That's a kickass idea Verviedi I like the idea of deluded perception, with twisted creatures viewing themselves as refined nobility. Would work nicely with Nurglite stuff too
Ooh, the next step for my Knight Worlders (apart from just painting them) is to create some antagonists. I wanted to do a play on the Brettonian 'Green Knight' guy, but as a Nurgle champion. Having a mixture of pageantry and decay would fit really nicely with that perhaps I could blend the two characters together somewhat...

You flatter me glad you like it!
The story-telling and conversion work is my favourite bits of making them, although I am warming to the painting now I think weathering agrees with me. Provided you've got the quantity of paint on your brush right (not too much) it basically rewards you for being slapdash and rushed which is right up my street

Nah awaiting paint - I've 60% finished painting a unit of slightly converted wraithblades, then I'll do my shadowseer and Eldrad (also both converted).
Then it'll be a quick break from Eldar to paint a bunch of cultists (including Festus!), some plague marines and the bloat drone, before back to Eldar to finish my 'vindicare' and probably some Kabalites...
I just find painting a very slow process versus building and converting. You seem to be pretty quick at both!

Sweet! Looking forward to more eldar (and nurgle stuff later!). Keen to see your take on Eldrad. I had a go doing a bit of reposing on him myself but I have to admit I didn't like how it turned out so I've been cannibalising him for parts
