My birthday is coming up and its right on time for the new orks releases

I've been painting my orks this way. Waaagh flesh (then a green wash when i got one) Then warboss green. And I'm not liking it.
I've grown a liking to the pale, olive colored orks, with fleshy colored bits here and there. I dont know how to achieve this paintjob yet and i much appreciate some pointers as how to get this paint job or any others you might have in mind.

Try using something like Death World Forest->Elysian Green->Athonian Camoshade(or another wash of your choice, like Agrax Earthshade or Seraphim Sepia) if you're wanting a paler, olive colored Ork.

It's not the look you're asking for...but I used to paint Orks green, then use a Yellow wash, and it looked very nice. then layer? I think it'l look pretty good anyway...

(I use this trick on my Nids, Lt Green, Dark Green on chiton, Yellow wash, yellow/green layer, and detail. fast, easy, looks good. )

How about https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvIeP6JPTfw ?
While i am no friend of the airbrush, the tutorial itself should mostly work with a normal brush too.

For Boyz, I'm trying to reel things in a little bit so I can paint more of them faster while leaving a nice base to work up later...once I get the millions of gray ones painted up

Castellan Green> Agrax Earth> highlight Castellan Green. VERY fast...and looks pretty good.

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

This thread probably belongs under "Painting and Modelling" where, incidentally, there are quite a few threads and tutorials on painting Ork skin.

I use Waaagh flesh, then warboss green leaving waaagh flesh in the recesses, then skarsnik green for the highlight. To get a darker tone for the nobz I use biel-tan green wash over the warboss green, then apply the highlight. Moot green is a good highlight colour too if the skarsnik is too pastel for you. I also use bleached bone washed brown for claws and teeth leaving either black or a nuln oil wash in the recesses; this stands out really nicely against the darker green you get from the biel tan wash.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "pale, olive-coloured orks", but if you want to go paler maybe start with warboss green and then use moot green as a layer, washed with biel-tan? I think it'll take some experimenting.
